Maybe I just happen to have found an unrepresentative sample, but it seems a clear NWS win for McGovern from the reports I've seen, the only one I found for Britt was The Cohoes Republican. Boxrec claims the New York Times called it a draw, but it seemed to only in the sense there was no decision rendered. I'd be very interested if anyone has found differing perspectives. For Terry McGovern The Brooklyn Citizen The New York Tribune The Brooklyn Daily Eagle The New York Times The Standard Union Tim Hurst (the referee of the contest, mentioned in The Brooklyn Daily Eagle) The Associated Press For Jimmy Britt The Cohoes Republican For draw The Brooklyn Daily Times (somewhat ambiguous, says opinions differ, but impartial observers had it a draw) The World (Robert Edgren) (said McGovern outslugged Britt, but it was a draw on points)
While I'm at the the ND between Britt and Nelson For Jimmy Britt San Francisco Examiner (W. W. Naughton) San Francisco Chronicle (Harry B. Smith) The Fresno Morning Republican For Battling Nelson Los Angeles Times The San Francisco Cali (R. A. Symth) The Long Beach Press For Draw Los Angeles Herald (J.G Griffin) Oakland Tribune (Eddie Smith) Will have another look, but it seems to have been a draw. Britt's better science, being countered with Nelson's aggression.
