He did have a very good amateur record, people only remember what he did in the Olympic games, he was a European Champion, he stopped Henry Cooper in 1956.

Close first round with lots of jabbing. Naturally Liston would take that. Round two: Johansson gets in a big right hand, hurting Liston a little bit, and tries to put him away, but Liston covers up and clinches too well. Ingo starts the third trying to put him away again, but Liston quickly turns the tide with his own good salvo, and drives Ingo into a corner and batters him senseless.

Nope. Cleve couldn't knock him down. Ingo doesn't either. Johansson is far too simple to give Liston much trouble for long.

Ingo was pretty smart fighter. His footwork was pretty danm good. One thing that I respect about a fighter is when they fight to their strength. He never tried to fight outside of his ability. He knew what kind of weapon he had with his right hand and fought in a manner to set up that punch.

Koysta Tzyu fought in a similar manner with an emphasis on timing and setting up that right hand. When those guys threw left hooks it wasn't to hurt guys it was to move them to the left and into that right hand. Lennox did the same thing but his right hand was an overhand not straight.
