They "Real Rocky" was kinda a fallacy in a way, for Wepner was not a puncher what so ever, never ate breakfast, fore he could not break eggs, some of his knockouts was old setup sparring partners. And he never came close to Ko'ing a contender of any kind.
I'd go with Jimmy Ellis over Terrell by clear decision. Terrell didn't have the power to hurt Ellis, and Ellis was the better boxer, IMO. Ellis may even score a late stoppage, depending on the year they fought.
I do agree with Magoo in that Terrell was lucky to get the decision against Williams. Can't comment on the Chuvalo fight as I have not seen it.
BATTLE OF THE BAYS- "they WBA'S" -Ellis vs Terrell people always talked past of Muhammad Ali's 3 World titles at the time and according to the WBA -HE WON IT FOUR TIMES, they took it twice, and were coming for it a third.
I think Ellis was better too, it's just always hard to say how difficult of a time Ellis would have against such a big guy
I don't think Terrell got lucky, he was the aggressor more often, and Cleve did not throw as much as he should have. The Chuvalo fight was very close, could have gone George's way, but I think Terrell won it with the jab. The decision was very unpopular, and I can see why. I don't mind that Terrell got the decision, just that it was by a UD, cuz it was much closer. Watch it, it's a great fight. Plenty of action, two all-time greats in an underrated fight.
was Depaula a puncher like the fictional Balboa, "Smokin Joe" was an Olympic hero and undefeated much of his great career. Balboa was making 20 bucks a fight less expenses (towel , and locker), Mike Weaver maybe better suited as the Real Rocky, and had the Whammy on him too.
