I pick Terrell. Very good jab. He's too big for Ellis. He would tie Ellis up inside. He's more effective than the guys on this post give him credit for. He went 15 with Ali. Ellis didn't.

I agree Terrell was actually pretty good as his 46-9 record would indicate, prime for prime its about a tossup, Jimmy was pretty good himself. so we cannot use 1967 as Terrell's best thats for sure. I do not think the size would hurt Ellis with all his Muhammad Ali sparring etc. he was one experienced cat.

I remember that Jimmy Ellis decked Oscar Bonavena in their 1967 meeting as part of the WBA Tournament to find Muhammad Ali's successor. Jimmy went on to outpoint Oscar by decision.

Yes Jimmy decked Ringo twice, he also decked Patterson , he was about 6-5 in his big fights as a Heavyweight
he beat 5 ranked heavyweights in a row, in a very short amount of time

It's not Terrell's fault he won decisions he shouldn't have, blame the judges. I know you refer to the fights with Chuvalo, Machen, and Williams. As close as all those were, I think Terrell won, of course draws wouldn't have been outrageous either.

I'll let you in on another quick note here. I went back and looked up on his prior conversations, he does not want to talk boxing , he wants to insult people with the safety of the web

and why in the hell am i explaining myself, i'm also in Quarry's book "Hard Luck" I did not get there by going out insulting people for no good reason , and being a punk huh?

I still get your point: Terrell won some UDs that were very close. I feel that if Terrell had won SDs over Machen and Chuvalo, that wouldn't have been as bad, for them to have at least gotten recognition for coming close to victory.

I'm sorry, I said it poorly, that message was not to you, it was a general statement to anyone looking to argue. Again, my apologies.
