Jimmy McLarnin Resume Of Wins......

    Jimmy's resume of wins, are incredible to say the least. Is this up there as the greatest resume of wins of all time?

    -Sergeant Sammy Baker
    -Al Singer
    -Billy Petrolle
    -Benny Leonard
    -Sammy Fullmer
    -Young Corbet III
    -Barney Ross
    -Tony Canzoneri
    -Lou Ambers

    Pretty unbelivable. In this list there is All Time Greats, Former Champions and Top Contenders. Thats resume of wins has to be up there as one of the best.

    Jimmy was a unbelivable fighter. :happy

    Probably one of the best jr. welters ever (which was probably his ideal weight class), despite never fighting for the title. His win over Al Singer (a very highly regarded LW champ at the time) was probably his peak performance.

    One of most stacked resumes ever, especially considering how many fights he had.

    Great welter ,in my top ten .
    Problem with Mclarnin is , in many of his best wins such as over.
    Mandell
    Canzoneri
    Petrolle
    Fuller
    Ambers
    Singer
    Ross
    He held a significant weight advantage.
    Jimmy had a great manager ,Pops Foster, who loved him like a son [he left his estate to him]. He invariably got the best deal at the bargaining table,for his "Baby Face".

    That and the fact that some of the best fighters he beat were either running on fumes or completely done at the point he beat them (B. Leonard, Canzoneri, Villa - Villa wasn't so much done as he was incapacitated).

    All that said, STILL a tremendous resume.
