Obviously, this begs the systemic questions of whether there were other black fighters who should have been rated in the top 10but weren't because they were black or who weren't given the same opportunities as white fighters, but addressing that issue would take years of research. You'd sure get into a lot of would've, could've, should've issues! I guess this gives us a starting point of the field of black welterweights who were on the radar of the general public at the time. I guess one could cull through the lower echelons of the Ring's Annual Rating if they wanted.

 

Boy you nailed that, there are people on some forums that think Ali can't be the best heavyweight of all time because he lost 5 fights.
