    ..at 115

Little Jimmy is giving away a fair bit of weight here, so we'll say 20 rounds in an attempt to balance the books :yep

How does this change your pick - if at all? How about 12 or 15?

There is not a lot of film of Wilde but his resume speaks for itself Wilde has to be considered one of the greatest (if not the greatest) flyweight of all time i have him at #14 P4P atg.
His greatness can not be denied.

I might be speaking in hyperbole on the KO1 part man:yep. They had same day weigh in's back then, while mijares is a "big" 115 lb'er who comes in as a bantam+ at fight night. Theres too much of a considerable size advantage. Wilde also fought in the 10's-20's, which most consider a primitive era for the sport. Check the video out. Both guys telegraph punches, are off balance when they throw, are vulnerable to a constant pumping jab etc.... Mijares would paint a masterpiece of violence with his fists using wilde's face as canvas. This would be worse than the arce beatdown. Even though he'd lose imo, wilde's legacy is solidified, that cannot be argued against. I just think theres too much of a skills/talent gap for him to compete with the mijares's, penalosa's, castillo's, tapia's etc.. who fought in that weight class from recent memory.

Wilde is far too primitive, as were the majority of the boxers of that age, to beat someone like Mijares.

    Mijares KO1, seriously.

Just watching fiilm of the two fighters you can see the difference in technique and the advancement of the sport. Fighters of that era don't really stand a chance against todays top fighters. Don't let this effect the standing of older fighters though.

Mijares would win, but it begs the question...are we just dropping Mijares into Wilde's age, or are we taking Wilde into today? If it's the latter, there's got to be improvement factored in on Wilde's side from having better training and scouting methods.

Wilde is widely considered to be on of the greatest 25 fighters of all time.

I have not seen any footage of the guy (Wilde), but Mijares is on a great boxing level, and yes, the game has advanced a lot since Wilde's time.

Cant really say, though I would imagine that Mijares would have far better skills and smarts than Wilde did.
