He's now exactly 112 for every single fight. All the results are the exact same. How much does his stock drop in your eyes if at all?
I would seriously question the quality of an era when a 112 year old man could dominate a division like Wilde did, while also giving up significant weight.
I literally thought you were talking about age, and that this was a very elaborate commentary on fighters like Archie Moore. You're referring to weight?
I wish I was that smart. Although for that thread idea I would pick someone who isn't seen as a p4p great. To see how much of a boost they would get. I would also pick a less absurd age than 112 lol. no this is more about the p4p legacy of Wilde.
He'd still be my #1 Fly of all time, as weight/size plays no part in how I rank fighters within weight divisions, but assuming he was a natural 112lbs, he'd probably drop a few slots down my p4p rankings.
It's the stuff he did above flyweight that is spooky af. I would say it makes not a huge difference - I've always though the flyweight division he fought in was kind of overrated anyway, it was sort of semi-organised with not much doing in America.
I agree its what Wilde did above Fly that is most impressive. For me, a theoretical natural 112lbs Wilde beating, for example, a 125lbs Joe Conn, isn't quite as impressive as the 105lbs actual Wilde that beat him. Which is why I answered that his ranking would take a slight hit, for me.
