Young was past his prime, but he really showed heart here by demonstrating his slickness despite having a horrible gash above his right eye. He could hardly see but was still competitive with a solid but untested up-and-comer. Jimmy is very underrated.

 

I was surprised by the amount of punches he threw in this fight. Jimmy Young always seemed somewhat gun-shy to me but here he was really throwin' the leather. It's frustrating because Young was fairly quick with his hands and if he had focused more on his offense then he surely would have been given many of the decisions people think he was robbed of.
