The underlined is a blatant lie,he had his upper body outside the ring! Watch the fight! While you are at it, see how many low blows Young lands."keep em up Jimmy".Shameful performance from the perennial nearly man who didn't have what it takes to grasp the gold ring.

Jimmy Young came up from the school of hard knocks, I saw him in the early days in MSG vs Randey Neumann (today a REF)and was not impressed, when he was KO'd by Shavers he came back & in the rematch held Shavers to a draw that most felt Young won.

He stopped Richard Dunn, beat Jose Luis Garcia and Ron Lyle, I felt he beat Ali. He beat Lyle again and then Beat George Foreman. I felt he beat Norton but after the Norton loss he lost his will to fight. Young came in vs Ocasio in no condition (he had horrible man boobs) and after that he did not win another real fight of significance & he only won 12 of his next 26 fights.

Joe Louis said "he can run but he cant hide" Jimmy Young could hide behind his defense, his feints, & his legs

Plus ducking below waist height so it is illegal to hit him in the head, and deliberately putting his head and upper body
out of the ring which too is subject to a standing count.I'm not impressed by such tactics its cheating and defrauding the public as far as I'm concerned.

Now educate yourself, you irritable old crank.[/QUOTE]
I'm only irritable with smart arses like you who try to be clever when the reality is they don't know what the **** they are talking about.Young deliberately put not only his head but his upper body outside the ropes, it's there for everyone to see he also ducked below waist height to avoid punches illegal, and threw numerous low and borderline low punches ,so stop with the selective hate on Ali crap if anyone is guilty of hero worship its you.If he employed those cynical cowardly tactics I'd say the same no matter who Young was fighting.

If you die you die , tant pis.

you talk like Young fought the fight with his head out of the ring, he only did that a few times in a 15 rd fight. He was never hurt or in trouble, he did it obviously because he was having fun in there. Busting ali's balls. He fought Lyle, Shavers, foreman, u think he's afraid of Ali? And whats the difference if he stuck his head out of the ring, Ali wasn't going to hit him anyways! Not with a handful of sand! Nobody ever did that to ali because Jimmy Young was a freakin genious in the ring.

They were desperate to take points away from Jimmy...why, the nerve of him...beating the Golden Goose and making him look bad in the process.

I love it when a fighter gets creative and all is fair in love & war if the REF does not warn you. The master of these out of ring bendings and turn your back manuvers was sweat Pea Whitaker but he learned from masters like Willie Pep, Sandy Saddler, JJWalcott, Jimmy Young, Marciano,Dempsey,Johnson but the best was Fritzie Zivic (I dont think he was ever DQ'd) Ali held & pulled down on the neck.

Holyfield was the worst with his head but it rolled into his style very well (Rahman) & Hopkins faked getting hit with a low blow to bide time. When a fighter can incorporate it into his style like Marciano's short arms hitting with the shorter part (the elbow) or Dempsey aiming for the neck, heart, & used elbows, Johnson & his bag of tricks I give them credit as long as they dont continue after a warning

Now you & Red Cobra are intellegent people with excellent insight into many things (I dont always agree or disagree) sometimes we have different opinions but no reason to get serious with oneanother, Life is short & as you know we learn something new every day & sometimes from a different opinion. Peace be with you & Red Cobra & lets all have fun giving our humble opinions.

I agree with this Bummy...a forum like this is always subjective with plenty of give and take and you get a little hot under the collar sometimes but there's no reason to take it too far! For the record, I apologize to McVey.
