They counted ONE of the times as a kd,in reality they should have counted each one. That would have put the result beyond doubt and we would all have been spared this debate!

How about ali dancing around the ring like a fairy when he should have been fighting for all those years

Intentionally sticking your head and upper body out of the ring to avoid punches is counted as a standing 8 count knockdown, that is why the referee gave Young a standing count, where he failed was in not giving him a standing count everytime he did so .Now I'm bored rigid with this and no matter what anyone tells /explains to you, you aren't going to change your tune,so you think what you will . This never merited the coverage it has gotten, the extra pages have largely been posters trying to explain to you Young was committing a foul each time he did as he did. I've no interest in trying to change a closed mind. I'm out.

Legality is not the reason sticking his head out the ropes cost Jimmy Young the fight. By doing so he failed to display Agression, Defense or Ring Generalship all factors used to judge a fight.

However had the referee opted to rule Jimmy Young‘s tactic as a foul rather than a knockdown I believe he would have been justified under USA Boxig Rules 9.1.12. which gives the referee the authority to deduct points for a foul where a combatant “Completely passive defense by means of double cover and intentionally falling, running, or turning the back to avoid a blow;”
