Jimmy Young vs. Chris Byrd.

    I think Young had more tools in his arsenal than Byrd, so I would pick him to win.

    Young was better, but the southpaw stance of Byrd may throw Young off due to there being less southpaws around in his era.

    Also, many of the techniques Young used would be less effective against southpaws, especially a slick boxer like Byrd.

    Young was great at making guys fall onto the pull counter, which Byrd likely wouldn’t fall for. Also, Young could duck to his right sometimes to avoid attacks, but Byrd may use that to his advantage, stepping around as Young ducks against the ropes, to then set up the left.

    This could come down to a battle of the jabs, with whoever takes more chances being the winner, but I do believe Young would struggle with the southpaw stance combined with the techniques of Byrd.
