Laugh all you want. Cooney got stopped every time he lost. He lost to feather puncher at heavyweight Michael Spinks. Got brutalized by Foreman and Holmes (who are harder punchers then Young) and stunned by Dino freakin Denis. Young definitely stunned Cooney in their original fight and hurt him with a right cross and some body shots. A prime Young would win by TKO in the last round. I would bet on it. I see the accumulative effect of Young's combinations being too much.

I dunno maybe the weight he gained past-prime helped Jimmy's power lol. All jokes aside, I said earlier that it is boxing and anything can happen. I just found it funny that you said that most likely it would end in a stoppage. Not taking anything from Young I just like pulling your hairs.

No the added weight didn't help Young's punching power at all since it was probably fat.
Young had better technique and combinations in his prime. Since he did stun Cooney i think he stops him in his prime.

I know I was kidding. It can be debated whether he would stop Cooney or not but he has a good chance. Still it's weird saying Young has a good chance to stop someone though it's true in this discussion. One thing's for sure is that Cooney is not stopping a prime Young. Young went 15 rounds with Shavers in a fight most thought he won so I think he would do fine against Cooney's power. Again, I wasn't bashing Young's power I just found it funny that he would have a good chance to stop someone. As we know, Cooney isn't near as durable as say a Foreman so Young could stop him.

And Cooney certainly wasn't durable. I see this as an easy fight for Young.

Very easy. I think he would beat Cooney past prime when they fought had that cut not happened. Bangers like Cooney are made for Young. I brought the Shavers-Young 2 up in my last post but I ask, did you see it? I would've loved to see his Shavers 2 & Lyle fights but it's unfortunate that they are hard to come by. I like Young.

I don't think Young-Shavers was ever televised. Unfortunately. I do have his second fight with Lyle but I can't seem to upload it correctly to youtube. I would if I didn't have this format problem but I can't seem to get through. right now I'm uploading Frazier-Bugner and Young-Cooney.

:goodOk. Frazier-Bugner was a good scrap and from what I remember Bugner gave Frazier a bit of problems.
