even that night he could very well have beat Cooney. Its a shame he got that cut. He was blind for a rd and a half and Gerry couldn't hurt him. I;m not saying not saying Gerry might not have beat him that night, I think he was awesome, but I think Jimmy was in the mindset to do battle and win that night, it was all on the line for him. And he was fightinng Gerry on even terms.

 

I think he probably would have decisioned Cooney prime for prime, he could take cooney's best shots and go toe to toe if needed, though I don't think that would be the strategy Young would take

 

of course... cooney was a tall big simpleton with face of ******ed, a prime young would school him, and a prime ronny lyle would ko him, but norton still loses by ko
