Interesting one, Young probably has the chin and cardio to win comfortably here

I think Young might be a spoiler here

Young, it would be a simple affair for the fox.

Young outboxes him. Baer was best against guys that would stand and bang with him.

How's this for an old timey headline?
"Young wins! Baer wishes he could've stood there and banged Jimmy!"

I'll take Baer. There's no reason for him to respect Young's punch. I think Max employs his left jab more than usual until he is able to set
Jimmy up for an overhand right to the head. That blow unleashes the vicious tiger in Baer. Lefts, rights, rabbit punches, backhanded swipes. Wild punches rain down on a helpless Jimmy. Fortunately the referee steps in to stop the savagery. Instead of giving the ex-champ a boxing lesson, Young takes the worst beating of his life -- even worse than the ugly licking Gerry Cooney hands him two years later.

I agree Young probably out moves and outpoints him to a decision. Not sure how “ simple “ of an affair it would be. A lot of judges didn’t seem to like Young’s cute elusive style. And unlike Foreman, Baer was a guy who proved he could go fifteen rounds and still maintain work rate late into a fight. Yes, Young still wins but it might be harder than people think.

You're right, I think "simple affair", was a bit disingenuous, so I'll instead say- "Hard fight, easy decision."

Im also taking Baer in a risky fight. I think he will catch Young out at some point.

Myself I think Young > Braddock. Maybe it's just me.

The 190 lb Cuillo fought young when he became a stepping stone, he lost five straight fights during the span that Pat beat him, lol.
This is also all you ever have to say about Young, it seems.

Tentative nod for Baer … honestly I have never really thought that highly of Young, people overrate him IMO because of the Foreman fight which was a unique circumstance, him going 15 with Ali in a fight that wasn’t that close, beating everyone’s “what might have been” favorite Ron Lyle and coming close against Norton and the draw with Shavers who were never bastions of consistency.
