Thanks Bummy. I actually think it's a fork in the road type fight. And which fork does Sonny take---fight smart or fight dumb? Which way he chooses determines the outcome. Sonny can win every round one way. The other way can see him dropping a close decision. I also think if they fought 3x, neither is going 3-0 against the other guy. One night one guy's game is off a little and either Liston or Young is the wrong guy to come in flat against. I just think Young takes away that great jab. And as a result of that, the great left hook off the jab. And forget landing an uppercut from the outside against that Jimmy Young boxing radar. Young nullifies so good in there. He was up there w/ Ali in the nullifying department--for a brief time. Lewis was another always real real good at nullifying. That seems to be an underappreciated assett, especially with the heavies. Lots of folks think a guy has to better the opponent. You don't. Just take 1 or 2 things away. Nullify. And lots of bad things happen to guys that are accustomed to being effective when that thing does get nullified. One things for certain, landing punches on a Jimmy Young translates to being razor sharp. What's funny is I could see Young pulling out a close win over a Liston. But I think he'd lose to a Leon Spinks who would just throw and throw and throw in there. And Leon has zero chance against a Liston.
