    Sum ppl in this site like to overrate Young like he was actually CHAMPIONSHIP MATERIAL .

    In the end , Jim never had the heart or desire 2 truly bec0me champ ,
    infact , i wud
    not . giv3 Young 1 chance against the likes of Primo Carnara , Max baer, rocky marciano , walcott, any of ,
    the past champs . KEEP IN MIND, THE FURTHER U GO IN HISTORY THE WORST THE CHAMP ( I MEAN CHUMPS) ARE ! SO CONSIDERING ALL OF THESE MEN ,
    WUD SCKOOL JIM-JIM EFFORTLESSLY !!!!!

    THOSE PITTER-PAT SHITS WUD NOT KEEP OFF THE LIKES OF FRANK BRUNO! WHO HAD 1 ,

    You speak fact, friend. Mr. Young was a fairweather fighter with a negative style that was lucky to run into a division in a transitionary period, with an old champion. And yet he still didn't fight hard enough or well enough to take advantage of that. For shame. Boring. In style, character, and performance.

    He thought his negative **** , wud be gud enough to rule 1 divison !!!1 but truth is ,
    Young cud not even rule the **** 70s period ,nevermind IMAGINE IF HE WAS IN 90S OR 00'S !!! :yikes:admin

    Sticking 1 head out of 3 ropes , how shameful , young shud be ASHAMED ! He took advantage of past-prime fighters in LYLE , FOREMAN , AND ALI . BUT COULD NOT DESPOTICALLY BEAT THEM .

    Cooney showed em how it is done , THROW TO THE BODY NOTHIN BUT HOOKS, SLUG EM, TOOK HIM TO THE GUTTERS . Young had NO ANSWER AND GOT CUT AND STOPPED.

    I agree that Jimmy Young is overrated.
    Chris Byrd > Jimmy Young.
    lets see how d comparison unfolds :
    Byrd : Ibeabuchi , Vitali Klitschko (Byrd RTD) , old & shot Holyfield (Byrd pts) , Oquendo (byrd pts)
    Young : Shavers , George Foreman (Young UD) , shot Ali (Ali pts) , Ocassio (ocassio pts)

    plus Young never met a Wlad twice , Byrd would have never been outboxed by Ocassio or a '77 Norton , and would have probably taken

    Young also never met a Tua or McCline whom were both vastly superior to Cooney .
    Lyle can be easily equaled by Golota and Puritty whom was in fact a more formidable fighter overall.
    Byrd also fought Maurice Harris whom was dangerous .

    And even I don't rate Byrd as a top 10 heavy .

    I'm not a fan of Jimmy "The Gentleman" Young, but i would favour the Young who decisioned Lyle & Foreman against every active Heavyweight today, except the Klitschko brothers.

    plz . Hope it got sum mad **** in it aswell . M8, U KNOW IT. Young was garbage!1 . Pitterpat garbage. Young cud not beat Haye, Arrerola, Adamek, Thompson, NOBODY . IF U EVER WATCHED LYLE- YOUNG , U WUD KNO LYLE DESERVED THE DECISION .

    And Against FOreman ,
    he did NOTHING!1!1! MOAR PITTERPAT **** , George actually did maybe clearly possible hurt Young in 7th round ,
    most meaningful thing allnight.
    in last 12th round when he "floored" george (it was 1 slip) ,
    Young COULD NOT EVEN FINISHED MENTALLY-SHOT-PASTPRIME FOREMAN

    Indeed. I reckon Arturo Godoy, Ike Ibeabuchi, Elmer Ray, Henry Cooper(prime), and Joe Choynski would have whipped Jimmy Young rather conclusively. A prime, focused Jimmy Young.

    How on Earth could you think that Lyle deserved a decision against Young in one of their fights ? I can only assume that you're referring to a parallel universe ! Young clearly beat Lyle both times.

    M8 , unless u seen BOTH OF THOSE FIGHTS , i'd shut the **** up . I have seen both m'self .
    Lyle won it on aggression and bodyhsots . facts .

    Ali was past it 4 most of the decade . Frazier past it since 71 . Foreman only dominant 4 a few years. Norton, nothin more than a contender, not even 1 gr8 champ.
