Yes, I remember all the Irish guys p*ssed off they had run out of beer!
What a great venue to see a fight ,I had a terrific seat in row 10,excellent view, except when an Irish crowd in front jumped up when Frampton unloaded punches, but it was still ok because you have the big screens above.
Did you notice Ricky Hatton working the Russian kids corner? He sure wouldn't make welter any more!

Don't know if I saw Tony, I was talking to an Irish guy with glasses working in the small lower bar who said he would have gone to the fight but he was on shift, he was a soccer fan. A nice girl ,from Jersey I believe ,was working in the upstairs bar when I was there which was early afternoon.

I couldn't believe how hot the subway platforms get, thank God the carriages are air conditioned!
Just booked to go to Cracow in September a peace offering to my partner, but I hope to go back to NY next year, hopefully when there is a big fight on.:good

I'm a whisky man myself. I buy various brands from different regions. After purchasing my tenth bottle I decided to celebrate by having a double measure from each.

After the final double I felt 100% sober. I turned to my girlfriend to tell her how sober I felt and how it didn't make sense. Next thing I know it's about 12 hours later and I'm waking up not feeling very fresh.

She tells me I turned to her, started babbling incoherently and then proceeded to pass out

When I drink spirits its Russian Standard Vodka and tonic, or Gordons Gin and tonic, both with ice and a slice, but I drink it quick like beer so I get p*ssed far too quick , I tend to stick to beer, unless I'm at home, where I mostly drink wine.

If you like Scotch there are certainly good selections in the bars in NY .
I know what you mean about babbling ,when I come home on Sundays after going to jazz ,my partner says I invent a new language .

Mac looking at that bar i'm envious, that looks right up my street, I love old traditional bars like that, and with all that boxing memorabilia too.
Had you visited New York before?

That's my problem. I love the taste and I drink very quickly so by the time I've been drinking a couple of hours I'm absolutely wasted due to the amount of alcohol I've gone through.

I have to drink singles now when I go out to try and pace myself.

As you go in the door on the left side ,there is the old MSG ring bell.

There are plenty of photos and programs on the wall, including Jimmy with Ali.

It was my first time in the States, but I hope to do it again next year.

I know what you mean when I do drink spirits at home, I fill a tumbler glass up, but it isn't a good idea for me to do it when I'm out socialising! About 20 years ago I went to lean on a patio door which ,unknown to me some one had opened,I fell straight in broke my left wrist in 4 places, but I didn't spill my vodka.:good:lol:

:lol:Ricky definitely isn't in training anymore. The Barclays is a great spot especially considering its size. Our seats were the 1st row above the floor seats so we had a perfect, unobstructed view directly into the ring. :lol:The subway platforms are ****ing furnaces in the summer. No relief until you enter the trains themselves. Great that you enjoyed your trip:good. Terrific stuff:good. Enjoy Cracow.
