Why are you taking offense to that question? Like Gonzarelli said, you could have been talking about Hatton. When has Hamed ever been known or remembered for rough house tactics? Hamed beat the guys who were there to be beaten...he should have been the first boxer in history to hold all 4 belts in one weight class. Do I think his resume is the greatest...no. But should his entire career be written off as overrated (like some people say) just because he was beaten by an ATG in Barrera...no. Anyway...Hamed v Lopez would have been explosive...the winner all comes down to opinion.
This is the Guy asking me if I've seen Hamed fights. Did you not see when Hamed fought against Soto. This was held in Detroit, the city that has the largest Middle Eastern / Arabic Community in the US. "Cobrita" Soto (B level fighter) was rocking Hamed. Then Hamed body Slammed him, I want to say twice and was fighting very dirty to get Soto out of his fight plan. It worked, Soto didn't want to "in fight" after that and realized the ref was going call anything to appease the fans of the Clown Prince. After the fight Soto approached Hamed and told him in spanish, "you don't have balls to fight right, your time will come". Check it out.
Hard to tell really.. hamed has that one punch knockout but he leaves himself wide open. He is easy to hit and lopez is a hard hitter so i can see him winning this fight by UD but i won't be surprise if hamed wins by KO.
I asked you a question, not to cause offense...but a genuine question. Your basing your theory of Hamed roughing Lopez up on one bout. If you asked 100 boxing fans, what will Hamed be remembered for? And then ask the same fans, what will Hatton be remembered for? I'm gonna guess and say more people will remember Hatton for his rough house tactics, I'd say a handful may state they remember Hamed for being rough and 'dirty' in the ring. If you don't ask you don't find out...how was I to know whether you may be confusing two boxers or not?
Only if Hamed was off balance, he was never properly knocked down and hurt, onl ever off balance and right back up with no affect, he had a great chin for such a skinny neck. Hamed stops him btw. p.s. it says prime Hamed so no need to reference the Barrera fight.
They arent myths, its just haters who cant stand Hamed that jump on the bandwagon and spout rubbish about one of the most underrated fighters ever. Most dont even have a clue about him or his career or his peak, it shows by the amount of people on these type of threads who say the other guy to KO Hamed, anyone who knows anything knows that simply would never happen. A one of, Boxing's loss.
Whereas you have people discrediting Hamed's abilities as a fighter out of resentment of his personality, you also have those happy to attribute his shortcomings to the absence of Ingle...because it helps them sleep at night.
someone above summed it up well as a wasted talent, he had declined in the years leading upto the Barrera fight, but the Ingle stuff was also a factor added to that, alot more than the quality of opposition as really a dedicated Hamed with his head screwed on his whole career most likely retires undefeated. he always said 20+ years of training had taken its toll, his heart wasnt in it anymore, that shone through in his performances.
I can tell by your tone and particuarly this comment that you have no intention of listening to what I'd have to say about the subject. :good Happy trails, friend.
Prime Hamed, wins by KO early. People forget that Hamed peaked early in his career, and was never the same when Manny Steward started working in the corner
