juan manuel lopez vs ponce de leon is on the undercard of Pavlik vs Lockett. To me this undercard will probably be better than the main event. Both power hitters but I think Juanma (20-0 w 10KO)is more polished than De Leon(34-1 w 30KO). This is the classic PR vs Mexico showdown. Good undercard fight. It can go either way.
Good fight and it will most likely be better than the main event. I like Lopez in this. He's a much more dangerous guy than Bautista and will probably come away with a ud here. This fight will put him right in the mix for some really attractive fights.
I think JuanMa lasts longer than Boom Boom, but ultimately suffers the same fate. His fight on the Morales-Diaz undercard showed he had a lot of kinks in his armor that need to be taken care of before fighting someone like De Leon, who may be limited, but is extremely aggressive and a concussive puncher.
Havent seen Lopez. But I have seen Ponce and he sure looked like a bag of **** in his last fight. Definately painful to watch (not enjoyable). Sloppy as hell. Punches like a raw amateur. And he is on the undercard of a big title card in Vegas ???? ---- Again ??? I hope Lopez puts him out of his misery. Molitor would chew him out for breakfast.
The trick to this fight is JuanMa taking DPL into the late rounds like Penalosa did. Take him late get him tired and make him frustrated and out box the *******. It's not impossible, De Leon is a big guy at 122, Isn't de Leon 5'4 or 5'5? I think its very possible that JuanMa might be able to chin check PDL if he fights smart.
I picked Juanma to become the next Puerto Rican champion when he fought at the Olympics. He's well schooled and and has a killer instinct when his opponents are hurt. He could possibly stop de leon.
