This is the matchup I expected. Golden Boy wants to keep it in-house.

Pavlik said in Ring Magazine the whites are discriminated against in the sport. Maybe they both have a point.

    Campbell would beat them both.

    Marquez should beat Diaz.

It'll be a good one. I've got to go with JMM; but don't count Baby Bull out.

Do you want to see Pavlik at the bottom of the food chain as well?

Its an interesting match-up but a pointless fight if Diaz wins.

The lineal Ring magazine title will lose credibility if Diaz is named lineal champion should he beat JMM while Campbell still holds all them belts.

He never said Blacks are superior to Latinos and he never said Marquez would lose to him simply because he was black. You're twisting his words and coming up with your own interpretation. Oh yeah, and Pavlik did say Whites where the dominant race in boxing.

It seems like Pavlik and Campbell have very similar attitudes. Yet for some reason you hold resentment towards Pavlik but not towards Campbell. Why is that?

Pick 'em fight. Leaning towards JMM though. I'll give a detailed analysis if this fight becomes official.

Because he's frustrated. There seems to be shift and a bias towards hispanic fighters(particularly Mexicans). Mexicans fighters are always marketed as being the toughest and having the most heart. Their losses are many times forgotten. Many Mexicans have dropped big fights to Black fighters. Despite this, Black fighters don't get the same respect as Mexicans. Diaz got his ass handed to him by Campbell and was back on HBO in his next fight. Now he's going to be fighting for the Ring belt. Marquez just lost to Pac and got a title shot against Casa in his very next fight. Campbell has been winning and is still getting shut out of the big fights. He's mentioning Marquez' loss to a black fighter as a reminder that black fighters can fight too and Mexicans aren't the only boxers in the sport and aren't the only ones with heart and toughness.

Okay, in your original post, you complained about Campbell bringing in race. Pavlik did the same thing and you're fine with it. Are you now saying that complaining about racial inequities in the sport is not, on its own, enough to get you upset? Better yet, had Campbell only mentioned how it's tough being a black fighter and never made the comments about Marquez, you would be okay with that?

You're entitled to your opinion like everyone else. I'm not a boxer. Bias in the sport doesn't affect me.

Not it doesn't. The last post is an attempt to explain the reasoning behind Campbell's statement. Campbell is the one getting shut out of the big fights, not me.

Marquez has already beat a black fighter(Derrick Gainer). Casamayor is black as well. Anyway, so your problem is that you believe Campbell feels that Blacks are superior to Mexican fighters. That's understandable.

I don't know Campbell. My post is clearly my opinion of why he said what he said. Earlier in the chat, Nate seemed to get annoyed when someone talked about how good Marquez is. Campbell replied that they shouldn't talk about THEM like they're Gods. I'm not twisting his words because I never said that Campbell said he was frustrated or that Campbell said any of those things that I said.

The other poster claimed that Campbell himself said that Marquez would lose to him because he's black. Campbell never said that. That's a case of him twisting Campbell's words. I never twisted Nate's words because I never represented my post as Nate's own words. I am coming up with my own interpretaion of why Nate said what he said. That much is plainly obvious.

I agree he's had some decent fights, but he's had a good fair share of boring ones as well. It depends on who he's in there with.:good
