Both guys in shape. JML looks in way better shape than the first time. Great to see Tito and JCC posing for the cameras. http://www.primerahora.com/enpesojuanmanueljuanmalopezyorlandosalido-623556.html
Thanks! JuanMa looks a lot thinner around the waist than last time. This is going to be a good fight.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzHR_R-t82w[/ame] Lopez looks way more ripped for this fight then the first. I'm hoping the old JuanMa comes out. The fast, sharp punching, one punch KO power warrior he was. War JuanMa!!!!!!!!!
Now that was a good weigh in. It was upbeat and positive, plus everybody seemed to be having a good time.:good
The thing is that he showed up just fine in that fight. He was winning most of the first few rounds until he go caught with a big right. We always knew his chin was shaky and his defense spotty. This was nothing new. It almost cost him against Mtwaga and against Salido who is a big FW just like JML it really cost him. I think JML has always looked good because of his size in the divisions he fights in. I cant really think of anyone he has fought as big as Salido. He would have to pull off a Cotto-Margarito II type of performance in which he uses clinching and boxing(running as some may say) to win. The thing is he likes to fight. JML has a little bit of Mexican in him.
The old Juanma was constantly out of shape. I remember him almost getting his ass kicked by a cab driver on Solo Boxeo.
His chin isnt the problem. Its not made of steel but he's been hit and hurt by some big punchers but always walked through it. To me lately he's just looked very slow and not as fast or as explosive as he use to be. Hopefully it was just his training habits and not him losing it already we will see I guess. Even though he was winning the fight before getting caught he still didn't look great and he took and bomb of a shot on that first KD and got up and went out on his feet so to question his chin is silly. I think it he fights a smart fight and lets Salido come to him and counters with big shots I think he can stop Salido late.
I remember the old JuanMa blowing Ponce DeLeon out in a half a round(and I think he was only down once in his career outside of this fight in his first fight with Sodlooknayagtoy) also just walking down Steve Lueveno, taking care of Concepion in 2 rounds, whooping Penalosa's ass(even though Penalosa is the man and had his moments until the fight was over). Also before he even won the title he stopped Oquendo in the third the only real lose of Oquendo's career and he looks to be a pretty good fighter. When JuanMa is at his best he's a fast KO artist with explosive power. At his worst he's a power puncher that is a clubber rather then explosive and is rather average in speed and very sloppy.
I've been following boxing and Juanma longer than that, so to me that was not the old Juanma, that was the improved Juanma.
Juanma said he weighed 144 fight night and wasn't himself....curious how it will play out tomorrow in the difference it will make!!!
