JMM and team called out PBF only to be embarassed by a total @ss kicking. The plan to beat PBF or even come close on the fight was an epic failure. OK, he had heart and fought and never gave up, he gets some credit for effort but the fight plan was a disaster. Taco Nacho, what were you thinking atsch I guess be careful what you wish for... :yep
Beristain seemed to have given up hope before fight night. When they conducted the interview about the weight he looked despondent and accepting of defeat already.
Uh, yeah! Every fighter fights to make a living. JMM earning about 6 million after PPVs and getting less busted up than in his fight against JMM is defitanately an EPIC FAILURE.
i agree that their strategy was terrible. marquez tried to stand with floyd in the middle of the ring and counter the bigger and faster opponent. when he had floyd against the ropes he would throw a 4 or 5 punches and land one of them. if he pressured floyd instead of trying to counter him he might have won some early rounds.
That's what I feel too... Months ago, Nacho was the first one who protested that Floyd could possibly come in weighing 147 at the weigh-in... After the weigh-in all hopes for a JMM upset was gone when Floyd totally ****ed up JMM with the weights... Before the fight Nacho said JMM has only 45% chance of winning and JMM is still so slow for Floyd... He's just being realistic... You can see it all in his final instructions to JMM, "just finish the fight with some dignity left..." :-( Meaning avoid being KO'ed... That's the only small victory for JMM aside from showing a true Mexican warrior hearts and guts... .
Something better than what I saw. JMM and Team ask for the fight ~ I suppose if they had the ballz to challenge PBF at least make it close, JMM looked like an amateur. :!:
He fought his heart out, against a guy almost NOBODY thought he could beat, and made a boatload of cash doing it... I wish I could have an Epic Failure such as this sometime in my lifetime.. No gameplan was gonna help him in this fight, it was over the minute the contract was signed..
wtf else did you want him to do?? its obvious what speed and power he had at 135 didnt exactly carry w/ him and the weight affected him. its pretty hard to pressure a guy who is bigger, faster, quicker, stronger, etc. so he tries to counter the best he can. to say their plan failed implies there is one that wouldnt have failed. do you really think there was anything jmm, given his disadvantages in almost every category, could have done? pbf is just that good and the last thing i am is a floyd boy.
I think by the last 24/7 when Nacho saw where his speed was at, he probably thought to himself "¡...y ya está!" but kept it internal so as not to harsh Juan's mellow.
