Now also consider Pac practically sold 750,000 PPV buys on his own vs Clottey, and how can you justify Marquez asking for that much? Especially as he has really no leverage in negotations and Mosley is seen as a more lucrative option.

He just can't expect as much as Mosley as he is with GBP and Arum has to compensate himself for the money GBP are stealing from Top Ranks cut of Pac's fights. With Pac fighting a non-GBP fighter Arum can have his own accountants be a little creative in the expenses and what not to minimize what GBP can steal. However should Manny fight a GBP fighter, GBP will do all the accounting and with their greed you know they will try to maximise whatever they can get.

If GBP really wanted to work with Top Rank again and do what's best for boxing, instead of Oscar's childish and meaningless apology on twitter, why don't they tear up that court order allowing them steal Top Ranks money for a fighter they don't promote and tried to taint as a drug cheat in the media?

They can't have their cake and eat it too. Either they want to work with Top Rank, or they don't. Same applies to Marquez. If he wants to fight Pac that bad, he needs to get GBP out of the picture as Mosley was able to do.

Back then the biggest fights Pac could get were against GBP fighters (Barrera, Marquez, DLH, Hatton). After Pac became a megastar and could do massive PPV numbers vs anyone, Arum could afford to skip GBP fighters altogether, especially after they tried to slander Pac's name and career. He owes them no favors. It's also better for his company that they do avoid GBP fighters, so they can do their own accounting and give up as little as possible to them regarding their cut of Manny's fights. Why didn't GBP take themselves completely out of the picture and let Marquez take the fight under his own promotional banner in order to get the fight vs Pac?
