Well, he's fough Pac twice and has yet to record a victory over him. Only a scoring error prevented JMM from being 0-2 against Pac.
Here is the exchange: Press: "Will you fight him again, Manny"? Pac: "Im sorry"? Press: "Will you fight Juan Manuel one more time"? Pac: "Well its not my job to make the fight, its my promoters job. My job is to work hard to get ready for the ring".
How am I moany? You claim Marquez is better than Pac. However, by all rights, he should be 0-2 against Pac. I thought these fights were supposed to decide which fighter is better?
So JMM winning 9 rounds to 3 in the first fight and 8 rounds to 4 in the second shouldn't be suffice to merit a third fight? Did you even see the fights???
So would you prefer: "in my opinion, Juan Manuel Marquez should have gotten both descsions and therefore is the better fighter"?
I saw the first fight. I scored that fight for JMM. However, I'm not a judge. In boxing, you win by stopping your opponent, your opponent getting DQ'D, or by at least 2 judges scoring the fight in your favor. The only reason at least 2 judges didn't score the first fight for Pac is because one judge ****ed up and scored the first round 10-7 instead of 10-6. Another fight would be welcolmed by the public, but Pac it's a fight doesn't need or want to take.
Of course it's your opinion, that's assumed. However, this forum is all about debating opinions. If JMM is such a better fighter than Pac, he would've won at least 1 of those fights.
Yes and JCC-Whitaker was really a draw. Trinidad beat DLH and Mosley beat DLH in the rematch. Judges are not corrupt.
Can't blame the guy but it just says a lot about his character. He can't possibly be satisfied with a split decision. I bet if Marquez gotta split decision he'd be open to a rematch because he felt that he won and he wouldn't mind the big bucks. If Pac were as confident as Marquez why wouldn't he mind doing it all over again? The fight could have gone either way but Pac didn't feel like a winner as much as Marquez did. Its written all over his refuseal :deal
Marquez has also been put on his ass four times in two fights. If it hadnt been for the improper scoring in the first round of the first fight Pac wouldve won that one too. Both fights were close, both fights were great but Pac won. You'll just have to learn to live with it.
When did i say such a better fighter? I said When did i say he was such a better fighter. Here is the logic of my opinion: in my opinion Marquez should have gotten the descsion. Therefore he is the better fighter, just because a judge does not see it the same way as me does not make my opinion wrong. :good
In this case, your opinion can't be right or wrong. However, it can be off base. You ever think that maybe you're not scoring the fights correctly? Or maybe since you're not seeing the fight live and at ringside like the judges, that you're seeing a totally different fight than the judges? From a technical standpoint, JMM is the better fighter. I've said this before this fight. However, speed and power are a big factor in this sport. JMM might be the more technically sound fighter, but Pac is the stronger, faster fighter. These advantages may be enough to overcome Pac's defencencies from a technical standpoint in relation to to JMM. Of course, the only way to know this for sure would be for the two to fight eachother. They've done this, twice. Pac owns a victory(should have two), JMM doesn't. So from that standpoint, I have to question someone who says JMM is a better fighter than Pac.
