He lost to Pac at feather IMO.

I had it the other way watching it several times but have had it as close as 1 point, realistically it's the only arguable one for Pacquaio though on any sort of fair card

He arguably has a better resume than both

No he doesn't. JCC was better at all of those things. You've clearly seen very little of him.

I think we are familiar with those names PP.....
If you look to my posts you see that I usually give enough credit to modern fighters.......

Katsidis was only a decent fighter in his prime (I´m a HUGE Katsidis fan), but I think against JMM he was past prime already, and we can see in his last fights how faded he is......If we count this win we have to count a win against a guy like Raul Rojas to Saldivar´s resume as well......:conf

Casamayor was really good, always liked him and that win is Big IMO.....MAB ? I don´t know, MAB was very past prime IMHO.....
I see Pacquiao winning the trilogy 2-1....... and Juan Diaz are decent wins.....but not better than Mitsunori Seki I would say.....
Guys like Gainer, Medina, Polo were good, but they aren´t in the same league with Winstone, Ramos and Legra.....and I say they aren´t because I can see in the footage that these old guys that Saldivar defeated were better, they show more skills to me in the footage, so it´s not a opinion based only in their reputation.....

I think the most underrated on JMM's resume are Norwood, John and Polo so much so I'd rate them on par with Winstone, Ramos and Legra. That opinion get much love as none have got much TV time and they haven't shared the same ring as the other big attractions. Skill wise I'd rate them up there. I think if you put Norwood/John in with Pac/MAB/Morales, the latter 3 would pick up a loss or 2

Pacquaio trilogy - I had it 3-0. I'm guessing you only gave the third to JMM. I'd re-watch the second fight, I think that was pretty clear, I had it 8-4 myself. I won't argue over the first 1 as that was close

The MAB win - Marquez was the same age coming up in weight. Both were past prime really

Casamayor - again the same age and both past prime, plus the first time Marquez campaigned as a LW

Juan Diaz - remember pre-Campbell he unified all the belts and after that loss he came back against Katsidis

Agree with Katsidis, just not that good, impressive performance though

PP, Norwood never impressed me.......He was effective with that style but I wouldn´t rate his skills to high.....
Between these names I can say I´m not really familiar with Polo.....

And honestly..John is a average fighter IMO....skilled footwork in his prime but nothing special in any attribute.......

And yes......I only gave the last one to Juan against Pac......

As for MAB, it´s not about age.....MAB performances before and after that fight showed that he was more past prime, happened the opposite with JMM.....We still have very good performances by JMM after that fight......

I'll pay John...he is a good fighter and has proven to be a solid champ.

Polo.....Don't get me wrong, he was an awkward as hell and very decent contender but does not deserve to be mentioned next to those names...as does Norwood.

    Jezus Christ.

Edit: It must be between Sanchez and Chavez. In my opinion. it should be Chavez. Sanchez proved a lot in a short time, but not so much that he equals Chavez body of work.

I don't even think he is in their class. Chavez would have never lost to John. JMM is very very good and fought some great guys when they were wearing out and ready to move up, but he does not fight the top guys when he could. He picks lower level guys and then fights Pacman for a 3rd time or fights Mayweather and loses every round. How is that the level of Chavez and Barrera or Morales? Even Humberto Gonzales fought them all. Pipinio Cueves was I thought a better puncher.

Marquez has never had the best management\matchmaking team, mag...and it took him a long time to get the profile of Morales or Barrera. He's fought who he was able to and not really ducked anyone that i can think of.

Oh my God MAG, for the last time, Marquez did not legitimately lose to John. He beat a still very capable Barrera who fought hard for all 12 rounds. He fought exclusively top 10 opponents at 126 and 130 for years. He beat a prime Orlando Salido who beat Robert Guerrero (currently a lightweight belt-holder) and is right now a legitimate champion at featherweight. He was the first person to stop Casamayor in his first ever fight at lightweight, despite him being old, while he was himself of similar age. He should have beaten Norwood. He was the first to knock out a bigger, faster, younger prime Juan Diaz. Katsidis was a relatively weak mandatory, but he was technically developed at the time he fought Marquez and supremely confident, again with advantages in size, power, and youth.

Add beating the best version of Manny in most people's eyes and competing with him evenly over 3 fights, and you have an ATG. You're deluded opinion, about how Marquez just happens to have a good style for Manny and doesn't have any other commendable wins or demonstration of his skills, is simply ignorant of all he's accomplished. I'm not going to claim he's the best Mexican fighter ever, but he's clearly in the class of Morales and Barrera.

My point is the obvious one that shading John and Barrera whilst arguably beating Pac and Norwood doesn't = dominance.
