That was pure mastery of the art from JMM, you can watch those two rounds and truly say "it doesn't get any better then this". I've never seen such an impressive display of boxing in my life. JMM is truly an elite fighter :deal

yea this guy is a master of his art. However in the early rounds he was making mistakes like dropping his right when Diaz threw a left hook and moving straight back instead of turning to his left away from the jab and hook. But eventually he adjusted those mistakes and put on a clinic.

he has the best combinations bar none.

Marquez's combination's in round 8 were a thing of beauty. He was getting worked over in round 9 till the knockdown.

the fact that marquez was making mistakes and didnt go out there in round 1 dominating, but had to use plan b, c, and d makes it even more impressive to me, cause his d actually worked, which i think most boxers back up plans generally dont work

Thats exactly what my non-boxing fan buddies were saying but I disagree, Marquez was waiting to unload and as he let Diaz throw more and more he hit him with the crisp shots that ended the fight.

    Marquez is a genius.

Whether he was waiting or not, he was losing the round up until the knockout.

I agree completely. I knew he wouldn't come out swinging in the ninth after having him hurt at the end of the eighth.

He was gonna take his time and let Diaz throw shots and tire himself then explode with those massive barrages of combinations he throws at the right time and thats what he did.

After around the fourth round when he made adjustments on his defense I knew he was on his way.
