just because he fights with patience and doesnt get over anxious people dont think of him as being a puncher or combination puncher etc. its rediculous
When you get into exchanges some fighters tend to get a bit wide and square, and Marquez seems to use this to his advantage because he brings punches from underneath. He's lethal at mixing in his uppercuts with his combinations. I remember when Katsidis tried to hold when he was hurt, he couldn't because Marquez made him pay by switching up his attack and bringing the punches from underneath whilst Katsidis's hands were outstretched trying to grab him.
Thanks a ton for posting that vid! I have long time been said Juan is one of the baddest mo' fuggas in the ring I've ever had to pleasure to see. He's so technically brilliant, and at the same time will straight chop some dudes down!
One of my favorite recent (ish) performances was when he stopped Baby Bull in their first fight, being his first fight at light weight and being the first to ever stop Baby Bull. And stop he did, got damn! Baby Bull was chargin' at Juan, and at first I was worried, but hell naw, Juan had that!
all started because of these two clown of a post. if pacquiao is all hype, then what jmm did was nothing right? pisstards are approaching *****s stupidity, it's not funny.
Jaun Manuel and Rafael are both beautiful to watch. You combine their skill and power with the seeming readiness to take a punch and you have a guaranteed exciting fight. Juan Manuel has been able to get even better with age, while it seems the brutal fights with Alvarez have taken a toll on Rafael. If JMM had been in the kind of shape he was for Pacquiao when he fought Mayweather he would have been much more competative in the fight.
JMM can land a left uppercut from across the street. Great hands. Strange how most of his combos are really only concerted head attacks, when his body punching is also excellent when he chooses to use it.
Speaking of Rafael, how is the relationship between these two brothers? It "seems" to me you don't hear them even talk of each other much, and I don't notice them at each others fights. you'd think they'd be in each others corner team, like the brothers K do. (did you mean to say Vazquez instead of Alvarez?)
Marquez is truly an amazing fighter, the best counter puncher I've ever seen. I think his management took him in the wrong direction early on, he could have been more well known and made more money sooner. Beside Floyd, the only other fighter who has given him a close fight is PAC.
Juan's power is criminally under rated IMO too. Only Baby Bull rematch (and unofficially pac 3) is the only fight he hadn't won by KO of his wins since the second Pac fight and he'd moved up in weight.
:hi: jmm is a badass i agree. :deal though he did make it close in all 3 fights. he is norton to pac's ali.
