JMM greatest achievements are by far his close and controversial fights with Pac. If you look at their careers outside of the three fights it is like night and day.

Pac wins over Cotto, Margarito, Oscar, Hatton, Morales X2, Barrera X 2, Mosley, Clottey.

JMM best wins over the hill Barrera, Casamayor, Salido, Gainer.

I guess I would be bitter too if my whole legacy was built upon a disputed trilogy with another all time great.

Here is an idea why doesn't JMM try to get a great win before he retires.

He is the perfect foil for Pac. He has Pac's number and they fight very close always. Still his resume is nowhere near as good as Pac

I agree and this is why styles make fights. Marquez deserves to be ranked behind both Barrera and Morales and yet he is the one who had more success against Pacquiao. I think Barrera should be ranked first of the three, and Pacquiao walked over him twice.

This is why fights take place in the ring and not on paper.

The main reason Pac was supposed to easily beat JMM is because Pacmonster was now a much improved, stronger two handed puncher(same reason he walked through all those welters) which of course did not help him much against JMM.

I'm now more convinced than ever that Pac's success, post JMM/Pac 2, has been very careful and astute matchmaking by arum.

Can anyone tell me with straight face that JMM had no chance of beating most of those guys(DLH, Hatton, Clottey, ec).

JMM would . If he would have been given the decisions in their fights he would be Pac, beating Mosley, Cotto, Margarito

He already did, twice, but got shafted by the judges both times.

The point is he did not. His only other attempt at a truly great fighter Floyd was an utter failure.

I think JMM loses to DLH, Cotto, Margarito especially without question, and I think its a toss up with Hatton though I could favor JMM in that one and I think he beats Clottey.

the difference is that pac has proven he can win against guys 10-15+ lbs bigger than him.

jmm has yet to win against a guy much bigger than him. mayweather utterly dominated him 12-0. even beristain admits that they lost that fight due to the big size/weight disadvantage of jmm.
