Interesting line of exploration. How do you expect the workrate, handspeed, and stamina of Marquez to be effected fighting at 144+ lbs?
I doubt Marquez will come in much heavier than he did in his last fight at LW, it isn't as though he has six months to bulk up steadily. His handspeed, stamina, workrate and overall conditioning will be fairly similar to his fight with Diaz. Though his workrate/punch output will obviously be a lot lower as Floyd won't be throwing much leather.
Good points. Moving up can be tricky business, especially under these circumstances. I agree they'll do what they can, with emphasis on having the proper framework. They got a full plate to deal with.
This is nothin' but great work. This fight will always be mentioned among the some of the greatest, or at least if I'm in the crowd it will. Thanks for posting it.
Thanks for posting the link, I've just finished watching it, even though I've watched the fight 3 times already. Fantastic fight :good
Juan Manuel "DINAMITAAAAAAAAAA" Marquez what a great video. Marquez has the sickest, slickest combinations in the sport. I think the only reason he had some trouble was that his footwork was kind of off in that fight. Maybe fighting 2 southpaws in a row could have been the reason for that.
I will never get bored seeing Marquez put combinations together.... it's a thing of rare beauty. How he effortlessly in 1 fluid motion can throw a jab, a left uppercut to a left hook. Most fighters can barely throw a uppercut with any authority using their opposite arm.... Marquez tripples up doing it.
Since Mayweather is not a natural welterweight, i think the size difference won't be that big a factor. But we'll have to see, usually people will grow a bit into their 30's, and Mayweather has done that since his last fight at 147. Can't really tell till fight night.
