Anything is possible in boxing and Marquez is completely overlooked here. For a guy in Marquez' class and skill he shouldn't be overlooked going in against anyone.

Well if he beats Floyd(which is very unlikely) he would be the best.

I see both fans of both fighters saying their man won. Please watch these fights again. PAc won the first, and MJarquez won the second. Fans know it, but Arum doesn't care. Why do you think we won't get a trilogy? Oh, they said Marquez only fights for money, and not honor lol...

If Marquez beat Floyd, he should retire. Make Pac and Arum beg him for a fight.

hmm says... lets be reasonable.. the title and argument goes both ways so there's not much to really argue about. I thought about this comment in the January issue of Ring (I think it was Jan.) when they did a special on JMM.

    1. He said he felt like he won both fights, but then he states he won't think he's the best until he beats Pac. <-- admits defeat

    2. He won't think he's the best until he beats Pac (on record). <-- mentality to motivate and push himself

I had Marquez winning both. I am sure that JMM feels that he won both as well. The judges scored it a draw, and a win for Pac.... so JMM doesn't technically own a win over Pac in the record books. That is what he is referring to.

What's so hard to understand about this statement? JMM: "I won't think I'm the best until I beat Pacquiao" . Obviously, it was NALLEGE who twisted the statement. You don't know what you're talking about. :hat

Record books also say JCC vs PW = draw.. Perhaps people shouldn't even bother watching the fights anymore and just look on boxrec and 'record books' as you say.

That's a totally different case, when a fight is one sided and is scored a draw then the people and even record books would encourage people to watch it. Even if you go to boxrec in search for information regarding that fight there's an open book to click on that can view information backing up "robbery" claims and ridiculous scoring. When a fight is very close and can go either way whoever is selected the winner SHOULD be understood and accepted as it's too close and could favor personal choice.

No, it's you PAc fans who think Marquez thinks that he never beat Pac and now think that J.M.M is convinced that he never beat PAc lol...

From the looks of things he's accepting the FACT that he wasn't voted for and is looking to make a third fight to change it. If he believes he won he would just play delusional like Margarito did after the Williams fight and completely ignore it without any attempts to make another fight.

No you are interpretating the original statement wrong if you believe Marquez is admitting defeat, all he is admitting is that he won't feel like the best fighter unless he gets a official decision.

He has gone on record plenty of times saying he won both fights, it takes a special kind of ignorance to think he is admitting defeat.

How about you read the damn article first before making a dumb thread like this.:-(

He has always referred to the official score and its not the first time he has ever said it.

No, deep in your heart you know Marquez beat him, PacMan knows it, and Roach knows it. I know it and I'm satisfied even though the judges got it wrong, IMO.
