you're right I made a mistake in my calculations. He's going on 36. But good and fair points made by all of you on this thread. I will be watching him closely.

There are plenty of other fighters who look like they could be on the 'juice' including JMMs main rival. Marquez does look pumped up.

Why? There was some logic to what I posted.

No illegal substances necessary. He is a dedicated gym rat with a very healthy lifestyle. Oh he is far from prime though, so he has not been turning back any clocks. His reflexes are slower, his legs are not as good as before, his stamina is a bit less than before, etc. He does have excellent balance, timing and incredibly sound boxing technique keep him fighting at a very high level. IMO he has also been helped by moving up in weight since he does not have to dehydrate as drastically for each fight. Which means less stress on an already aging body.

Pac relies on speed and reflexes more(or about the same) as Marquez does....

They are both physically gifted fighters.. Pac has recently added more variety to his already great game but Pac is more physically gifted than Marquez.

The bold part I agree with. More fighters should do this instead of hurting their bodies.

Age means nothing when it comes to the living legend Marquez cuz he's like a fine wine.. He gets better and sweeter with age..

JMM although he is looking great as of now is not what he once was. He used to be a bit quicker when he was at featherweight and also took alot less damage. It worries me a bit because of his advanced age and that he takes quite a bit of punishment.

He truly is one of the greats of our era. He has so many dimensions to his game that even at his age he can hang with the top of the division. Actually he is the top of the division.

alot of staying in your prime is mental rather than physical. I mean its physical but your physical shape is based on your mental willingness to punish yourself in training. Once you lose that, its a quick decline. Marquez still trains like an animal. Reports were that he trained 14 weeks for his fight against Pac in March 2008. Against Juan Diaz you could see he was still motivated as hell.
