you're one of those idiots who will claim hatton has been shot all along if he loses to pac. how pathetic:-( don't forget your thread about hatton being prime lol btw, your mug is ugly. is that you and chico?
There's a definate argument for JMM being P4P no1 now. Diaz was very much the 'Baby Bull' again and he gave JMM all sorts of problems in the first 6 rounds. I thought it was all over for JMM at this point as he was getting batterd from pillar to post. But Marquez just doesn't know when to quit. He stands his ground and he turns the fight on it's head. Incredible performance. Incredible finish.
A little overrated like most wins are lately. But it is rare for us to have good fights anymore, and the fights of late have been great. This year is turning out exciting. I am even looking forward to Jones/Shieka.
Considering the excellent performance vs. Pacquiao (which I thought he might have won absent the knock-down) and the performance against a very strong up and coming fighter in Diaz, I don't think JMM is over-rated.
How can he be overrated? In the last 12 months: 1. Fights P4P No1 Manny Pacquiao at SF. Pushes him very close. Wins the fight by one point in many, many people's eyes. Loses by SD. 2. Fights LW veteran champ Joel Casamayor. Steps up in weight. Defeats Ring champ by KO. First man to KO Casamayor. 3. Fights Juan Diaz at LW. Diaz former unifed undisputed LW champion. Defeats Ring No1 ranked challenger by KO. First man to KO Diaz.
tough fights are catching up with him but he is not overated, still a great fighter who has been through wars
HERES MY POINT OF VIEW. Marquez no doubt is a great boxer. he really step up his career after golden boy. Barrera(postpacquiao and post morales trilogy) - knocked him down, its not official but we all know that it happen just like judah kd floyd. In my eyes and many others Barrera shouldve won that fight if the kd was properly called Pacquiao - close fight. i give you that. Casamayor - this is the same casamayor who was beaten by santa cruz prior to jmm. I see the fight as competetive until JMM kod him. Casamayor was 37 i think. BABY BULL - i give mad props for jmm for taking this fight. Juan was alive opponent.IMO JD was winning the early rounds hitting JMM like i never thought id see jmm hit. Kid has good workrate but we know he is kinda limited in power. JMM was favored to win this one too. Also this was a post campbell juan we are talking about. if you think jmm was great for beating JD you should also give mad props to nate for dong it first.
I'm man enough to admit when I was wrong. Juan Diaz was never very good. Of course, two fights with Paulie M later, and this becomes common knowledge. :rofl Try harder, Ears.
I don't have to try. You simply weren't wrong, selfkill. You weren't wrong at all. You're just being obstinate, like always, regarding your tormentor, JMM, and his career. :verysad Sad. Also, Paulie M is a good fighter from a higher weight class, fighting a very good fighter from a lower weight class, who'd just been knocked out by a great fighter from an even lower weight class, who'd just had a split decision loss to a high tier all-time great fighter (there are so many levels of fighter, gentle Addie), and on my card Paulie won the first fight and they drew in the second. But, whatever.
Not at all. JMM's magnum opus, sure, but that's more indicative of how weak Marquez's win column is. Cawkafied, if you will. I'm not being obstinate, you're being pedantic.
