JMM also turned down a $1.5M offer to fight Morales (and demanded somewhere around $3M ??? - not sure of the figure here) when his previous hgihest purse is only about $300K (against Pac).

Joan Guzman, after beating Soto, said this in an interview:

But JMM's camp has never ever touched on the subject, not even when Pac has reportedly signed up for a fight with Diaz (which later on turned out to be just a rumor).

That is 4 of the best 126/130 lbrs in his era he has managed to welched out of.

So is he really the avoided one, or is he the avoiding Juan?

    Think :think

These threads have been done to nauseum!

Enough already with people trying to rehash and remember bits and pieces on why these bouts were never made!

On foward to this springs JMM-Pac fight.....all this bashing of JMM will all be over soon!:yep

Nah, beating Pac will not erase the fact that JMM did his share of welching out of big fights.

And no, beating Pac may make him the better fighter, but not the greater one. Pac's resume will still be heads and shoulders above JMM, unless JMM goes on and beat the likes of Guzman, Valero, Soto, etc.

Why don't you asked a poster here named "black"?

    He was claiming that there's a clause on the first contract that says . . . JMM will be receiving $1.3 Mil. for a rematch . . . according to BERISTAIN in a Ring interview . . . Oh wait . . . it's not ring it's in a K.O. magazine.

    :rofl :rofl :rofl

Pacs resume is not even that great. His claim to fame was good by beating MAB the first time around. He then went on to fight a past his prime erik morales 3 times. He lost one. Then he fights all bums and rematches MAB. Please his resume is no better than JMM

The thread is not asking you to compare resume, stick to the point . . . Is JMM really the avoided one?

For a fighter who's biggest purse at that point is $ 300,000? Asking for 3 Mil is a fair deal? :huh

    Nah nah I don't think so. :-( :D

I've heard it in this forum before, but I never read it in a boxing site that JMM was asking for 3 mil to fight Morales.....

.....and I've asked for links when people have posted this claim, and never got one.

    Any links folks?

    are you friggn kidding me

Before the Pacquiao fights Morales himself never got a $3mill payday, why is it fair for JMM?

the purse for the Pac/JMM rematch was $1.5 mill total, JMM team wanted all $1.5 to go on with it.

the purse for Morales/JMM was $3 mill total, JMM's team wanted all $3 million of it.

Do you see a pattern here?

After a draw by virtue of a Judge scoring error . . . it increased JMM's stock alot?

    If you're an objective person . . . that wouldn't make sense. :-(

I am not sure either if the amount is indeed $3M.

At any rate, he must have demanded more than the $1.5M offered which I believe you would agree that it is his modest way of saying "no thanks, I'll fight Salido instead". :yep
