    Boxing fans tend to have short term memories. Marquez is hot right now coming off of big wins so he's getting a bit overrated by some people on here. Prime Castillo is definatly on par with Marquez.

    Boxing fans appear to have short term memories, but I think it has more to do with there being a bunch of newbie fans. I started noticing a bunch of kids almost immediately after the Mayweather-Gatti fight, and then after Pacquiao started becoming a big name.

    These guys go to boxrec, see losses on a record and immediately brush guys like Castillo off.

    Boxing fans like you and me who have been following the sport for a long time, and who are true fans know that a fighter like Castillo was no push over, he was indeed extremely skilled, we know he acquired many of his skills by sparring with the legendery all time great JCC.

    I don't think Marquez is overrated, I think Castillo is underrated.

    He applied pressure almost as well as JMM neutralizes it.
