Yes my friend, Marquez does want Pacquiao but who wouldn't. If he can get Pacquiao instead then he'd go for it in a heartbeat, but if you see in all the interviews, Marquez said HIMSELF without being asked that HE wants to be the first 4 wieght Mexican champ so in the end, it's his decision. If Marquez beats Khan then he will really secure his legacy and a fight with Pacquiao would pretty much be on the cards since Khan is Pacquiao's stablemate.
I agree with what your saying totally. If Marquez beats Khan at 140 then certainly a rematch with Pac would be on the cards. But my post was more in response to a previous post of yours in which you said Khan isn't the one pulling Marquez up. I think Khan is definitely trying to pull Marquez up in weight, but in the end, as you say its Juan's choice if wants the 4th belt or not.
Oh right. No Khan definetly DOES want the matchup, no doubt and if he can get it that he'll go for it but my point was, a lot of people think Khan should move down when Marquez is the one who wants to enhance is legacy and be a 4weight champ so surely he should be the one moving up.
Yeah I agree with you there. I don't think Khan could safely make 135 anymore anyway. Even at 140 there isn't a pick of fat on him!
I do not like this fight. Marquez should have one or two more fights at LW against Katsidis and someone else and then retire.
Marquez still knocks Khan the **** out, whether at 135, 140 or in a Roachweight contest. Hopefully he choke slams Freddie as well, the horrible ****.
143 on the night, 133 for the weigh in. I think Marquez will go for Khan cos he'll be after that 4th title.
Didnt read it properly yea thats right. As previously posted that is the most likely although it appears to be a trap-door to JMM's retirement 135lbs is clearly his limit. Thinking on it, a lw fight morally would be right and would be a far greater achievement for Khan In 1 fight becomes the best at 135lbs by proxy and then can go back to comfort zone before trying to clean up at 140lbs (easier written than done) Highly unlikely though with Mexican boxing history in the way and Marquez being the champ and all round tough bugger he is. The fact he still wants a 3rd pacman fight which will be nearer 147 you'd assume means that Khan at 140lbs would not be dismissed out of hand. Its sad that a guy has a long tough respectable 50+ fight 3 weight world champ career and still has to go out of his optimum weight against a new world champ to cement his legacy (in his own mind it seems)
Marquez's legacy is as good as it realistically can be. Always in the shadow of Barrera and Morales.... was ripped off twice against Pacquiao, tooled by Floyd, didn't fight Hamed etc. Beating Khan won't really add that much - Amir is himself pretty unproven.
If the 140 division is apparently the hottest division in boxing at the moment, are the Khan fans not embarrassed he's looking to fight Marquez? Marquez wants the fight to claim a 4th title at different weights. What does Khan want the fight for? He's already got the name of Barrera on his resume,is one disadvantaged legend not enough? Its a joke and reflects badly on boxing. So much crap going on these days.
