Do you really feel the only factor here was Marquez having a "beer gut"?

Floyd could knock JMM out but it would involve trading shots and mayweathers to smart for that ****

Mayweather started opening up around the 9th round, he started throwing looping rights and lefts. He tried to get him out in the 11th hard but couldn't.

Look at Mayweather punch stats after the 8th round. He came in there with a set gameplan to step on the gas after the 8th round.

Marquez was still a live dog and wasn't going down without a fight, he was throwing lots of counters but they weren't landing.

    No.

A counter puncher isn't beating Mayweather, unless were talking about a bigger one like Winky Wright. The new Marquez could win some rounds.

Marquez looked powerful. He didn't look as powerful vs. Mayweather or in the 2nd Pac fight, not going to say he would beat Mayweather though.

Bad style match up for JMM although if PBF-Pac or PBF-Martinez can't be made I wouldn't mind seeing it.

Too smart, if his pride didn't get the better of him.

Floyd HAS to be feeling the pressure of what many fans (negatively) think of him right now. He might enter this fight wanting to show that he can, in fact be the aggressor. He seemed to be doing this against Ortiz, while it lasted.

You just never know. - And I really do think that right now JMM might be the best fighter he's ever been, all factors considered.
    -------------------------

What's to lose for either fighter?

If Mayweather wins, as he likely would, then he just beat (again) the guy who completely dominated Pac.

If JMM loses, well we all expected it anyway. - and he still gets a huge payday.

If JMM somehow wins, then there would surely be a Floyd-JMM III, and Floyd has even more reason to never fight Pac.

    It's a win-win-win.

And oh yeah: **** Bob Arum !

I don't want to see it... And if Floyd does fight him and wins, everyone will say Marquez got old overnight since they can't use the weight as an excuse anymore.....I'd rather seen Floyd fight cotto, khan, and even martinze

Who wants to see Floyd fight someone who he beat 36 of 36 minutes and dropped? It makes no sense... Maybe JMM could win a couple minutes of the fight in the next fight but I doubt he would even win a whole round...

    Whats the point?

I wish we could have seen it at lighter weights; a more aggressive Floyd, a still cerebral but much faster and reflexive Juan.

I didn't think he looked any different, I mean a little bigger maybe, but this "new" JMM stuff is almost as silly as the "beer gut" bull****.
