When Floyd himself started at 130 and is a small welterweight,Marquez started at 126 and 135 is his prime weight,Floyds Prime weight was 140.

Only Floyd detractor will point to this as an issue.

They were separated by one division at the onset of their careers.

    Four pounds.

Floyd's prime weight was 130. JMM's arguably 126 seeing as he spent most his career there.

And yes it is. Floyd is a fully fledged welter now in my opinion, while Marquez I don't feel should go beyond 135.

it would not be an issue if we all grew at the same rate and topped off at the same weight. it aint about where you started but where you are at now. you dont expect ulises solis to be a fair match against pac because they both started at 106 do you? well, maybe you do.

moving up in weight is a process. Fighters usually get accustomed to a new weight after a couple of fights. JMM is just getting accustomed since late 2008.

floyd doesn't weigh more than 150 when fighting at 147 and below. jmm weighed around 144-145 in his last fight. there will be no more than a 4-5 lb difference in fighting weight between them no matter if this fight is @147, 145, 143 or 141. the issue here is that if pbf comes in weight-drained for the fight having to make 143 or 141.

Thats extacly How I feel. PPL wanna say its a huge difference but its not. also some ppl think JMM shouldnt go past 135 but he wants the winner or the loser of Pacquaio-Hatton so thats at 140 anyways. he might as well get used to it right now. Its really about what weight they come in. The most I think Mayweather has ever been in the ring was 149, Marquez just came in the ring at 143 I think for the Diaz fight. thats not a huge differnece at all.

floyd fought dlh at 154 so hes been above 149?

i think floyd could still make 140 considering he walks around at 155ish

I dont know why people keep bringing up the whole "he started his career at 160 so he is a natural middleweight" bull****, each individual boxer is different, Bernard Hopkins now fights at light heavy, he has grown into that weight, that is now his natural weight, just because he started at 160 does not mean that its his natural weight.

floyd knows this fight can happen at 140, and it probably still wouldn't change the outcome of the fight wherever it happens, at 140 or 147 floyd will still be favourite.

but floyd is thinking about the next fight after marquez. if its hatton or pacquiao then he would rather have the fight at 147. the winner of the pac fight would argue that you came to 140 for marquez, so you can come down again for me. floyd doesn't want to see that happen, so the lowest i think he would go is 145.

Floyd weighed in all his welter fights bar the Hatton one at 145-146,Marquez could go up to 141-143 then i think we have a fight.

150 vs de la hoya. but weight should not be an issue anyway. marquez called out mayweather to a fight. he knows what floyd weighs and he knows what he weighs. so why call him out if it is an issue apparently he think he can beat floyd so fighting at a catchweight would make sense at about 144 range.
