He says Rios always struggles to make weight and rather to fight a southpaw like Gesta and Cuenca.

That doesn't sound like him. Maybe he's banking too much on a 4th Pac fight.

Also, why fight ANOTHER guy who Bob Arum won't allow to lose unless you know him out.

Although it's not like Marquez will take on a more credible opponent anyway, I still like the fact that this means Rios won't get rewarded with the biggest fight of his career immediately that shameful decision.

It's because marquez actually knows boxing and probably agrees that rios got an outrageous gift against abril

What does struggling to make weight at 135 have to do with a fight at 140?

Meh, never liked this fight. I want Marquez to seek other opponents.

my thoughts exactly. i understand wanting to fight a southpaw in preparation of a 4th fight but why is he concerned that rios wouldn't make 140? so is jmm fighting at 135 once more?

He is and with good reason. He's almost 40 and there's way more money in a fight with Pac than with Rios.

Considering Marquez will be fighting Pacquiao in November, it only makes sense for him to want to fight a Southpaw next. I personally think they should consider Judah, but it doesn't look like he's on their radar.

    Judah certainly better than Cuenca.

**** Rios, he does not deserve this fight. He'll probably get his ass kicked anyway, he needs to fight some more bums to develop his game.
