marquez is better than cotto, but he doesnt hit as hard, fights a slower pace and isnt as strong bad match up for marquez

I would think that version of JMM would win.
Basicly JMM does everything better that Cotto does with a higher boxing IQ as well.

Cotto has more raw power but thats about it.
154 version of Cotto is too big though.

Cotto, far better matchup for him than Pac.

That Cotto was one of the worst versions. Mentally and physically weak. Wrong trainer, timing, just horrid. Marquez hadn't looked that fast since his 126lb days his feet looked fast and power was significant. What Jmm did in the 3rd fight I expected Cotto to do and win a hard fought decision. Jmm UD12 Cotto.

I can see Cotto underestimating Jmm too.

Why do people forget the Diaz fights. Cotto would have stopped Marquez at WW.

Yes and obviously Marquez would have fought Cotto the same way as Diaz.
Pac hits WAY harder than Diaz but could not get a kd vs Marquez in the 3d fight either.

Pac also has much better handspeed than Cotto.
You really think JMM would not make any adjustments?

Different levels of fighters my friend.

That Cotto was shot to ****...now the unshot Cotto that fought Floyd would have whooped Marquez though.

Cotto would have made marquez fight, his size advantage and body punches alone would have made him do this. Cotto even made mayweather fight, which isn't easily done. The fact is Diaz made marquez fight, so imagine what cotto would have done.

Yes Marquez would have made adjustments against cotto but would it be little to late on the score cards?. Cotto is a natural WW unlike Pac or Diaz.

the cotto that fought floyd was at 154 lbs. In fact it may have been hard for cotto to come down to 147 again. The fact that cotto came in at 154 lbs exactly against mayweather who came in at 151 lbs suggest Cotto is more comfortable at JMW than he is WW now.:deal

Cotto made Mayweather fight at 154.
We are talking about the 145 version here, also you cant just classify Mayweather as a better version of JMM.
They are both counter punchers but with a entirely different way of doing things.
I actually see JMM having a easier time with Cotto looking at the styles.

Also Diaz made JMM fight because JMM did not mind it, Diaz did not have enough power to KO Marquez (not talking about a KD)
He fell right into Marquez trap and when Diaz made adjustments in the 2nd fight he got easily outboxed.

JMM is not some 1 dimensional fighter with 1 gameplan, and you cant throw a random fight of his in just as a blueprint on how Cotto would do.
