I know this is the classic section, but with so many Pac lunatics that are just not reasonable, I wanted the historians of the sport to chime in on their thoughts on who they thought won last night between JMM and Pacquiao? Vote on the poll!
The ironic thing about alot of the Pac fans is that they complain everyone is a Pac hater, but the only reason this is so is because of the **** that they spew forth. People like Johnco and PacDBest just make me want him to lose. Also Marquez won in my books, I didn't have it as wide as you did but I thought he won by a point or 2.
Didn't see it, but at two of the most popular Russian boxing forums current results of the same poll are: AllBoxing.ru Marquez - 65% ( 43 ) Pacquiao - 34% ( 23 ) Boxing.ru Marquez - 81% ( 34 ) Pacquiao - 19% ( 8 )
Wow Marquez has a pretty substantial majority vote there. It seems the consensus is that Marquez won a close fight which I didn't expect.
Hey Senya, if you have any more info like that from other sites you run into, please pass the info around..... I think we're going to be hard pressed to find a site with a poll that shows that Pac won the fight. Those polls you put up sure add up to what actually took place in the ring between JMM and Pacquiao!
I had it 7-5 for JMM. I need to rewatch it as I am not sure of a couple of rounds that would make it 8-4. Yahoo sports and ESPN both had Marquez winning. BTW, notice that 2 of the voters for MP in the poll have less than 60 posts.
Yeah, I had Marquez needing those rounds and getting them. It's a sin actually. Even Pac's people looked down in the interim between the final bell and the scores. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I was Ok with it on the night because it was such a good fight, but it's starting to nip me now.
The thing is, to me, I always felt Marquez was controlling the tempo of the fight. He was mostly the boss in there, despite its closeness. It was one of those were I looked at my card around round 9 and had it fairly even and thought "Christ, I thought I had JMM way ahead".
That's pretty much how I feel about it. I think that, despite it's closeness, it's a tough one to score for Pac.
