"I'll fight at whatever weight he wants. I have no problem. The problem is my style, not the weight. If the weight is such a big problem that it's holding up the fight, then let's go to welterweight and make the third fight," Marquez said to Sal Rodriguez.

"At the end of the day, weight is not an issue because he will weigh 148 [on the day of the fight] and I'll be 145, as in my last fight with Michael Katsidis, who came in at 154, so there wouldn't be a problem."

"I'm not [Antonio] Margarito, who was very strong in the fight, but had no speed, no strategy, and without that you can not beat Pacquiao. You have to counter-attack him and make him think because it complicates things for him. I've done it twice."

With the weight out of the way, another issue is present. Pacquiao and Arum have said in multiple interviews that Mosley will draw more interest among the fans who will purchase the fight on pay-per-view. Marquez doesn't believe that."Now they say that the fight does not have enough interest for the public. I would like to ask what is more interesting - Pacquiao facing Shane Mosley who is coming off a draw and a defeat - or facing someone who hasn't lost but beat [Pacquiao] twice, although his record does not reflect it. So I think they [Pacquiao and Arum] are wrong"

    PPV Numbers

    DIAZ MARQUEZ 2 200K

    Mosely MORA 100K

The attraction will be Pacquiao anyways, so its gonna make money... A fight with JMM is more marketable because of the history.

They do matchup well, but i have my doubts now, it just seems pac is much stronger now, he is one of those freaks of nature who peaks later on in life. But, im def intrested in seeing a 3 match up, more so than seeing Pac beat Shane, I just dont think Shane has anything left in the tank. But thats just my opinion.

Pacquiao-Mosley isn't a bad fight, but Mosley isn't the same destroyer he was not too long ago and compared to Pacman vs. JMM and Berto the Mosley fight would be the last on my list I'd want to see. Ever since the 2nd fight it was convinient for Pacman to say "Why fight with JMM again when I beat him?", but he never did. On paper Pacman has one win and one draw over him and a draw doesn't translate to a win in my book. The 3rd fight should of happened at 130 back then, but too late for that. I admire JMM for his persistence, but I'm not sure he can beat Pacman today like he did several years ago.

  4. So Marquez's "STYLE" brought him 2 wars, 4 knock downs, a draw, and a decision loss...

    :patsch

And this was against a one-dimensional Pac.

    :hi:

Pac-Marquez III = Prime Pac brutally KOs/retires Marquez.

    :deal

I don't understand why people think Shane is going to be such an easy matchup for Pacman. I find this almost laughable. Yes, he's had two not so good outings, but let's look at the entire body of work over the last 6 fights. 3-2-1 is the result. A close loss to Cotto which was a fight that Shane lost on fundamental mistakes. Not enough head movement after the power shots toward the end. He was always not only in the fight but was just as aggressive as Miguel all night. These are adjustments that Shane can easily make when he's 60. There should be a rematch of this fight. But than after that there's convincing wins over Mayorga and Margarito. Also, a loss to the greatest fighter in the world (Mayweather) and a draw with a tall, awkward Jr. middleweight (Sergio Mora). Mora was on his bicycle all night long and was forcing Shane to punch straight up in the air. None of these guys (Mayweather excluded) are even capable of giving Pacman half the war that Shane is. Then fact of the matter is that Shane is a better fighter than anybody Pac has ever faced. Hands down. It's easy to dismiss Shane as another Pac victim, but I'm pretty sure all the Mosley detractors will be quite surprised when they see Manny getting up off the canvas. Shane ain't gonna stand right in front of Manny and I guarantee you Manny has never tasted this kinda power. Good Luck Pacman but you're going to become a victim of the sweet science. If you think Manny's face looked bad after JMM and clottey. You've got no idea what he's going to look like whe Sugar shane is done. win or Lose!

That one dimensional BS is stupid thats what they were saying for the second fight and PAC had 4 years to improve with roach and same Close outcome that fight was to the first one...

Prime Pac? Seriously?! Funny how his prime has come during a period where he has only fought fighters coming off poor performances! Marquez would be the first genuine world class fighter coming off a good performance Pacquiao has fought since the last time he fought him!

that was skills!!! mayweather never put his weight on marquez and marquez didn't land any clean punches the few, and i mean few, times that he hit mayweather. So u cant say that marquez couldn't hurt mayweather because of his size either, cuz he didn't land any definitive punches to make that case...Mayweather just outboxed marquez...

Pac just doesn't want a fight that is going to make him look bad and or possibly lose...

against mosley pac will look good even in losing

the performance is only good looking from the outside in, lets not forget Diaz also beat Katsidas as well.
that fight was ment to make him look good, tell Marquez to fight Mosley and earn a spot.

Marquez is a small lightweight who doesn't carry the weight as well as Pacquiao, but he would always give Manny problems IMO.
