Good post. The childish nonsense being spouted here about him looking like the hulk etc is very disappointing, but not surprising at all unfortunately. I'd have more respect for the PED argument being made with regard to his performance in the ring, i.e, keeping speed at the higher weight or unnatural stamina etc, but those arguments don't hold up either because he was visibly slower in the 3rd and 4th fights and was already fading a bit by the 6th round in the 4th, Pacquiao was really taking charge.

But of course bitterness and/or jealousy will prevail because people are people, and they'll continue to post all this nonsense 'till they're blue in the face.

 

Best thing to do is ignore them (ot laugh at them). But sometimes it can be hard to do. One of the writers on the front page - Phenyo Molefe - couldnt hide his bitterness and wrote an article full of PED insinuations. You'd expect that out of a few of the more bitter *******s who post on here, but to see it on the main page of a respected boxing forum is very disappointing


Marquez isnt the guy who jumped up 8 weight divisions whilst retaining his raw power, lightning speed and endless stamina, but that's another story.....

 

He didn't develop it he had it. But he is older and he is setting down on his punches more. And the fact is he knows Manny and fought him when Manny was younger and faster. If Manny slows down a faster rate than JMM because of his tough schedule, it will be easier to hit a slower guy whose style he knows so well.

 

Judging from this thread alot of people dont understand basic boxing concepts like counters timing and positioning.

That KO had little to do with power for anyone not an ignorant fool.

 

timing is one thing but that was also power. JMM set down on that punch and let it go. He caught him right in the middle of the punch. Adding to JMM's physical strength is the fact that Mannywas knocked down in round 3 with a good punch, but not a punch I thought he would go down with so easily, shows maybe his chin was starting to go.

 

The problem is the number of ignorant fools here.


There was a great GIF showing the knockout punch from above in another thread. You could see clearly exactly why the knockout was so devestating. The punch was delivered about 10% from his arm and 90% from his shoulder/body. His arm didn't even get extended halfway before it connected with Pacquiao's face. Anyone who knows boxing knows that the real devestating shots come from getting your shoulder and hip turn into the shot. It's simple physics, kinetic energy. The fact that Pacquiao's momentum was taking him right into it made it worse.

I mean, if you can't understand that, you shouldn't be here, for real.

 

Correct it was a perfect counter .

Pac is lucky that JMM was not able to get full extension on his punch which would have made the punch even more devastating.

 

Now it is OK to drop steroid rumors?

Marquez agreed to take any test that Manny took. Manny stood by the commission and so should his fans. Nobody wants to hear about "doubts" now that Manny got KTFO!
