The catch weights are a stupid thing for sure. but Cotto clearly stated he was comfortable at that weight, and I'll take his words over heart broken fans..
let's see how this Marquez-Bradley fight plays out .

Juan Marquez is better than Manny Pacquiao, but his resume isn't as stacked as Pacquiao. Marquez has Pacquiao (X2) and Barrera, thats about it. He has a couple of good victories against Katsidis, Casamayor, Juan Diaz and others but not many victories against ATG's or high level opposition.

Pacquiao on the other hand has Morales (X2), Barrera (X2), Marquez (X2), Cotto, De La Hoya, Hatton and numerous good victories.

Clottey best win was a washed up Judah win, how do **** does that make him world class???

He is a solid contender, thats it, dont be propping up these guys like world beaters or something.

Yes you can nit pick every fighter and that extends to Pacquiao the difference is you agree more with the nitpickings done to Marquez opponets rather than Pacquaios opponents which is ok but anybody who states the Pacquiao nitpickings aint crazy or far off.

One worked his way up to being an ATG with an ugly style.

The other worked his way up to just being a solid contender with an ugly style.

    Whats the problem here???

You want to dismiss a fighter just because of his style regardless of how far they got in the sport which is BS. :nono

It hurts JMM that he didn't get Morales on the resume. I'm a die hard JMM fan but pacs resume is too much. He will rank higher when it's all said and done but we all know JMM was better than him. To use a baseball comparison it's kinda like comparing Barry Bonds to Ken Griffey JR. Bonds has the monstrous #s but it's clouded with doubts and circumstances. JR was the natural and unfairly overshadowed.

I think to say either Hatton or Casa were "finished" is an exaggeration.

Resume-wise Pacman has one of the most overrated resumes. Jmm has to beat Canelo and Sergio? :rofl Sucka pleez. Ok I get it, Jmm has to beat acouple weight drained, recently ko'd damaged fighters in order to head and shoulders with Pacman, right? Jmm is 39-40 yrs old past his prime. He beat Pacman 4 times Marquez. Cotto, Margarito, Morales, and Mosley were done when Pacman beat them. Pacman x4 wasn't and Bradley wont be.

At the end of the day: mano a mano, Marquez is the superior fighter.

I don't think the common opponents were fought at the same time. Pacman fought Barrera when he was more prime, he fought Morales twice and on the scorecards he beat Marquez 2-1.
How do you beat someone and not be on their level? H2h yes, but not p4p ATG or legacy. Same as Iran Barkley cannot compete with Thomas Hearns, although some will say JMM is closer to Pacman than Barkley was to Hearns, which is true.

I agree that catchweight stuff was nonsense, but the guys Manny fought 2008 and above we would never see JMM fight or beat in that manner. Maybe Ricky Hatton, but not by first round knockout.
