While there are small truths in here, they are not the extremes which would warrant for such a casual dismissal of a clearly great fighter. Comes off as trolling.

He had many close fights. Barrera fight isn't a gift to me just like the John fight isn't a robbery (John by 2 points every time). The third Pac fight I don't see 5 rounds for Pac, so that's a bad decision. First two fights though, close fights could go either way.

What a great boxer! One of the best combo throwing, counter punching, and just mentally tough guys out there. Always got up from a KD! What heart and determination. You couldn't ask anymore from this one, very special fighter. He finally accomplished his goal to beat Pac convincingly. He did it all. Happy retirement.

The years of hard doping ravaged his body to the point of no return. Good riddance to this roid fiend.

If his long time foe Pacqiao wanted to fight him again, then JMM would come out of his retirement to make the fifth fight.

I do agree that if it wasn't for Pac, he would not be making HOF. But he's not 'overrated'.

Great fighter and master technician who will be in the hof . I thoroughly enjoyed watching him fight and will miss seeing him in the ring. Enjoy your retirement champ.

    LMFAO, yea.... NO.

He is overrated in the sense that he built the vast majority of his resume off of one single man. But the rest of your post is trash. Yes he did struggle with a shot Barrera and yes prime Barrera would have beaten him, but prime Barrera beats 99% of Featherweights who ever lived with ease.

Glad he's retired - no reason for him to fight on.

One of my personal favourites and unquestionably an ATG. Managed to change his style in the latter days of his career and get the success he deserved. Supreme counter-puncher with outstanding timing and (imo his most underrated quality) bravery.

Having seen him in the ring breaking down fights, I'm sure he has a future as a trainer or a commentator if he wants it.

Only regret is that he never fought Morales. Don't even know who I'd have cheered on in that one.
