Good Lord! I say AMEN TO THAT!

    Great breakdown! Couldn't agree more.

I've been claiming for a long time that JMM is the best of the great Mexican trio. He has so many weapons:

    - great body puncher
    - good jab
    - good straight right and overhand right which he masks as a straight long enough to make the other guy fall in the trap
    - good uppercut to the body and head.

JMM will win this one and will make it look somewhat easy.

Pacquiao's best chance vs. JMM is to be what he is, wild and unpredictable. Nacho's right. However I fear that he has forgotten that part of himself along the road. We'll see. A wild two handed Pacquiao can be very dangerous, but the way I see it is that he's added all these punches to his arsenal because he's physically on the decline.

Everytime we respond to eachothers posts, we fall further apart.
We're about 3 hours away from fight time.

.....the best way to settle this and see who was right in their analysis is too just wait ti'll they've actually done it in the ring.

I'll not only salute Manny Pacquiao, but I'll salute you Mirani, if your analysis of this fight fall in line to Pac's win!:thumbsup :bbb

I'm sitting here trying to convince myself of a play, and am coming to the conclusion that I agree entirely that this fight is an ugly bet. Although if I didn't have the nagging doubt that Marquez could get worn down late a la Morales, I'd be all over the Marquez round scoring handicap of +7.

I re-watched their first encounter a couple of times recently (e.g today) and based on the impression that a lot of people give on the boards, I expected to see and feel that JMM dominated MP. Unfortunately, I didn't get that feeling Partly because although JMM avoided and contained Pac's best weapon after the 2nd round, he still slipped and got caught in the later rounds. In my opinion, JMM fought as good as he could have or as he usually does, and I'm not sure how much more or different he could be this time around. on the other hand, I clearly saw many errors and flaws in Pac's game during their first fight, and he only has more room to improve come the 2nd time around. It makes me feel uneasy as a JMM fan, that despite Manny making so many mistakes, he was still able to pull off with a draw. In addition, after watching their first fight, it reminded me of how much of an animal Manny is. In the 12th round, the guy was still bobbing and weaving and coming forward with just about the same ferociousness, hand speed, and explosiveness as in the earlier rounds. He is very athletic and holds the speed and power advantage between the two. And although JMM holds the advantage in the technical department, it just bothers me knowing he can have a shaky chin, and does show some signs of slowing down at times, while Pac on the other hand, looks like a tornado destined to destroy anything in front of its path. I believe the biggest problem in the first fight for Pac was that he didn't seem to have much of a plan B. He only really had one weapon, the left hand. Once JMM survived the storm in the first, and saw Manny's 'hand' for the night, he adjusted and succeeded for the most part by avoiding the left.

Coming into tonight things get more complicated. For one, Manny Pac must have certainly learned his lesson from the first fight, and I doubt he will come out with the same plan as before. I have a feeling he will come in and bring along his entire arsenal, like he did in the 3rd Morales fight. Secondly, Manny Pac has more experience now than before, as does JMM, but I feel any experienced gained benefits Manny more than JMM. Lastly, with more experience comes age...they last fought 4 yrs ago, so both guys are about 4yrs older. This again works more against JMM than Manny. So, coming into this second fight, I think MP has more of these intangible advantages. Though, Manny also has had some questions regarding his dedication towards training, his distractions, etc, etc...so thats another world of itself. Anyways, I think the deciding factor in this bout will be whether JMM will have an answer for MP's game plan as he did in their first fight.

That's a fair breakdown. It's very hard to argue that JMM pitched a complete shutout from the second on. He didn't.

I consider myself a fan of both men, and really just hope it turns out to be a great fight.

Overall from the first round until the 12th round Marquez dominated the fight. Pacquiao did have Marquez down three times during the opener, but after that it was Marquez putting the rounds in the bank convincingly for the vast majority of the fight.

IMO Pacquaio won the first two rounds, and he won no more than two rounds after that.

Just as I figured. When Marquez fights patient, and counter punches, he owns Manny. When he gets too aggressive he runs into trouble, like the knockdown. However, I think that JMM is taking control of this fight again, just as before the knockdown. I think that JMM is closing the show.
