That was a clear knockdown alright but the referee was thrown off by that the Barrera foul punch. He should have counted the KD and penalized Barrera afterwards/

Juan Manuel was saved from a clear KD by marco's dirty antics. Many fans believed marco won this fight.

    Agree.

But fighting any opponent less than 3 months after your last fight is an old school move!

And considering his last four opponent(MAB, Casa, Pac and Juarez)
JMM should get a pass for this tune-up!

Sounds like a tune up fight to me which makes me believe Marquez wants to be sharp against a worthy opponent after this.

It goes to prove that Marquez has a weak chin against elite fighters.

Darn, I hope JMM doesn't fight Hernandez.

If he needs a stay busy fight he should take on someone a bit more alive in the right than El Famoso.

    Are you really that stupid.

About 0.001% of boxing fans + some jackass filipinos think Barrera won.

C'mon guys, just think a little bit......a JMM fight with Campbell, Diaz, or any of the other top tier fighters, would'nt come on the undercard of a big event like DLH-Pac......

JMM againt any of the top tier is a main event and not an undercard....
....so if JMM indeed fights on the DLH-Pac undercard, its a stay busy fight against a C level opponent, just to bring him exposure to the masses.
......alot will be talked about during that JMM fight in relation to what transpired in his fights with Pacquiao.
.....obviously JMM would simply be in a showcase fight to build him up for a possible 3rd Pacquiao fight.

If a Pacquiao fight is'nt made for JMM, a fight against either Campbell or Diaz is very feasible for the first quarter of 2009.

Good move by GBP to showcase JMM against an opponent he will undoubtedly massacre!

On a side note.....I got a hunch that if a Pacquiao fight is'nt made for JMM after DLH, then JMM's next fight will be against Erik Morales.
:? I'd hate to see Erik get massacred by JMM, but unfortunately its a money fight for both JMM and Morales, and a fight that makes business sense on both ends.

And for Campbell as well. I sense this is not a "stay-active mode" for JMM but a safety first policy of his handler while waiting for pac to return.

Some people are just too quick to label JMM as a cherry picker when he probably just got told about this and the Schaeffer is the one suggesting this match.

Obviously lots of haters here, and the usual names. :rofl

Yep, he has a right to a pass on this one.

His last 4 fights have been tough so no harm there.

The **** part is that this mismatch will be on ppv.

Now that shouldnt get a pass.
