According to JMM's trainer "Nacho" JMM if successful in his fight against Diaz he will then set his sights on WBA/WBO/IBF lightweight champ Nate Campbell.

Two things came to mind upon reading this news:

    1. It's great to see that JMM is determined to clear out a very talented division. Both the Diaz fight and a possible fight against Campbell will make for compelling and entertaining boxing. :happy

    2. If JMM is successful in this endeavor then how much would it add to Pac's legacy? :think

i think marquez and pacman add to each other's legacy already.

they are both great fighters and just because marquez was never a 'headline' fighter it shouldn't take away from the fact that he argably beat pacman.

in the same breath, pacman was awarded those fights and has the distinction of having beaten the three great mexican legends..and oscar ;)

This is great news. JMM has long earned my respect. I'd also like to see him push for a Chris John rematch at 130 if he can still make the weight comfortably.

Nate Campbell is great news. Lets hope Nate can get a nice W in between.

btw I fully expect JMM to make Diaz look average. I thought Popo could have schooled Diaz if he was in better shape. JMM is twice the fighter, and usually comes in amazing shape. And he has a warrior spirit. I think Diaz will test JMM's fitness, but not his skills.

I also favor JMM over Diaz. I am a fan of Diaz but JMM's versatility and most importantly his abilities as a great counter puncher I think will prove to be too much for the Baby Bull. A JMM-Campbell fight is a much tougher assessment.

I'll cross that bridge if we ever get there.

JMM vs Diaz is exactly what I love about GBP. They will put their best fighters against their best fighters all the time, as opposed to milking them.

Marquez should not look past Diaz though. Before his loss to Nate a lot of people were very high on him and thought that neither Marquez nor Pacquiao could beat him had they moved up in weight.

Awesome fight regardless. I like seeing both of these guys fight and would not know who to cheer for. Just sit back and watch a spectacle I hope!

Great fight, probably one of the very best fights I could name.

Diaz is too dangerous to look past though so he better be on the ball.

I don't know if JMM would get past Diaz and Campbell is a monster at LW.

JMM will have alot of trouble with Diaz Jab. (Or anything left, His only flaw)
That said... I applaud GBP for throwing in all the chip's.
