    Marquez UD

Lopez was an underrated boxer as he was most known for his power. Probably one of the 2 or 3 hardest punching featherweights, if not thee hardest. I think it would be a highly competitive fight (much harder for Marquez than it was for Sanchez), maybe a knockdown for Lopez along the way. But I see Marquez outboxing him for a majority of the rounds, getting some good countering work in, and winning on the scorecards.

:good I only thought of this matchup while I was watching Sanchez v Lopez, and I got to thinking that JMM reminds me a little of Sanchez. Great counter punching, good speed etc Although I think Sanchez has better D, better power and seems quicker. It was possible the fluidity of the combinations that make me think of the comparison. Like you say though, Little red was an awesome puncher, and Marquez sometimes loses his defence, and there is the potential for a Lopez KO/TKO.

Close call. Marquez wasn't as good defensively as Sanchez, and while an excellent counter-puncher himself, he didn't roll off the punches as well and incorporate defense into his game the way Sanchez did. That's why Sanchez was able to pretty much dominate Lopez, as he was able to not allow him to pick up any kind of a rhythm or set himself for any big punches to land. Marquez would be hit and be hit a good deal more than Sanchez, and if he thinks Pac can hit, he ain't seen nothing yet. Pac is more explosive and quick, but no doubt Lopez had harder one punch power.

I think Marquez may take a few trips to the canvas in this one. Lopez was normally vulnerable early on in fights, and Marquez isn't exactly a fast starter, though he's always accurate, so if he was going to floor Lopez, it would most likely be early. I think if Marquez boxed for the majority of the fight, he'd probably win a close Decision, but if he fought typical Marquez style after getting tagged, he may get taken out.

Brook and Sweetpea, would you rate Hamed as the biggest punching FW?

It's between Hamed, Lopez, and Saddler.

.............Oops. I thought it said Barrera for some reason. No idea why. Pardon that, bad vote for JMM by stoppage there.

Marquez could decision him, wouldn't be shocked by that. Marquez wasn't as slick or as durable as Sanchez though, and 15 rounds is a looooong time against Lopez. He was dangerous from the first bell to the last.

i think marquez would stop him late, similar to the sanchez beatdown.

marquez is not quiete as powerfull as sanchez, but his southpawstance would and skills would be too much. maybe lopez drops him once early, but he would get up and school lopez.
