Me too, these two don't bring that excitement/entertaining factor. This will be a tactical matchup, a recipe for a boring fight.

Will just wait for the replay down the line someplace. For 25 bucks, I might think about it.

people who think pbf is a legitimate draw, how many americans would follow him over seas to watch him fight? now ask yourself this of hatton, odh, or pacman. there might be a few NYer's who care, but no one else really.

outside of hardcore boxing circles, mayweather doesnt have a fan base. all he has is name recognition. the only thing the mainstream knows about floyd is hes good, hes a villain, and hes boring. its because of the last reason and the fact that boxing isnt big in america that he cant sell **** unless his name is attached with a bigger name.

This is a good boxing match up but it will not live up to the hype. Both are counter. It will be a chess match and go 12 rnds. Mark my word on this. Outside of pure boxing fan this will be s snore fest. I'm interested and very excited about this match up and teh chess match that will play out but the casual fan who make up the huge huge % of PPV buyer will not like this fight.

We might all be surprised by the actual numbers.

Don't forget that JMM/PAC did better numbers than any or Pac's previous fights, then Pac's numbers went down the toilet for his next fight with Diaz. And if you take into consideration that JMM's style and performances have been very tv-friendly lately I think his fight with PBF will do around the same as Hatton/Pac, even though we don't even know what those numbers are yet!

Americans aren't going overseas to watch anyone fight, it dosn't matter who you are.

Mayweather is now the most high profile boxer in America, now that Oscar has retired. He is the biggest drawing American fighter there is and the only one known in the mainstream.

Mayweather sold the Baldomir fight, the Judah fight, took Oscar to a career high payday, took Hatton to a career high payday, and is going to bring JMM a career high payday as well. stop hating.

Cotto did call floyd out in his own way, a year ago. floyd responded by calling Cotto a "punching bag" who knew he couldn't beat me. HBO wanted the fight. floyd said he wouldn't do bidness with Arum ever again. The fight would havebeen huge, battle of the unbeaten welter champs at perhaps Yankee Stadium. Floyd ducked it, and then pseudo-retired when he felt the public and media pressure building to face the Cotto-Margarito winner. This is fact.

floyd also ducked Margarito, who called him out and called him Fraud Gayweather. floyd only accepts call outs from guys he knows he will beat (Hatton, Marquez).

This fihgt with Marquez could tank, the public did not enjoy paying PPV money to see the lousy Baldomir and Oscar business fights which were big disappointments. Barkley and Tiger walked out of the Baldomir fight before it was over. Consumers should be very wary of purchasing anything to do with mayweather. It will be very interesting.

This fight won't be a disaster. It will do atleast 500K in buys. Two top talents in the sport squaring off.

This fight does close to 1m buys ... if Pac vs Marquez II can bring 500k buys then i'm sure that these two accomplished veterans will do double that.

Marquez has a decent fan base_ and as long as Mayweather remains the most hated his fights will sell.

People will tune it to see if he will lose, how he looks coming off such a long layoff, see if he can knockout Marquez (something that Pacquiao couldn't do) the 24/7 ...

Marquez has a good fan base _ he's a true mexican warrior, a champion, and has alot of people thinking that he had beat Pacquiao twice.

Dude, close to 1 mill? No way man. Pac vs. Marquez II did that much because people KNEW what they were getting and wanted to see them again.

Yes, JMM has his fanbase, but it's not like he attracts major crowds. Guys like Morales and Barerra were only doing #'s like 200K and they had bigger fanbas then Marquez. Then again, they are all but gone, he's the only one left.

This was pretty far from a disaster and now the only question left is: How far can Flovd vs Pac go?
